Fraser Island, located just off the east cost of Queensland, Australia. Is the largest sand island in the world and was recognised as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. It is the only place in the world where majestic rainforest grows on the sand, making the island landscape diverse and unique. The island is also home to half of the world's perched freshwater dune lakes, making for perfect swimming locations.

Being able to explore the island through a hike gives you an incredibly unique perspective to see and experience this magnificent landscape. When you hike the island you really slow down and relax. This allows you to see the best of Fraser Island's beautiful tall rainforests, crystal clear freshwater lakes, shifting sand-dunes, magical ocean views and you might even see a dingo or two!

They know the do's and don'ts of hiking especially on Fraser Island and provide three types of package experiences for all hikers. Fraser Island Hiking is also one of the only businesses that promote overnight hiking / walking on Fraser Island, providing wilderness transfers from Hervey Bay to access meeting points along Fraser Islands World Heritage Great Walk. We provide all needed information along with other services, which include: pick up and drop offs, camping and hiking equipment, maps and itineraries and guides *.

HIKES WE OFFER

We offer self guided and guided hiking tours for 2, 3, 4 or more days! Choose which hiking experience best suits you and your requirements, check out our eco hikes below and click on a specific hike for more detailed information about each hike. All hiking packages start in Hervey Bay, QLD at our Fraser Dingo office, with a 4WD transfer over to Fraser Island. Then the adventure begins as you hike across the island on your designated hiking route.

THE ADVENTURE HIKER - Choose the ultimate adventure hike to have an experience of a lifetime. Become one with nature as you hike, self-guided, through the rain forest, carrying your own hiking pack with all your equipment. After you've reached your destination, you'll be ready to relax in the serenity of Fraser Island.

THE GLAMPING HIKER - If only hiking was that easy! Well it is, glamping hiking is the next best thing! This package lets you relax and enjoy nature, with a bit of a twist. Experience the thrills of camping and hiking, whilst letting us pamper you a little! All equipment and food will be dropped at the hikers camp site for you, tents assembled and ready!
