Because Tasmania’s not just for grandmas.

Back in 2007 I looked into starting a tour company in my home state of Tasmania. Thing was, as a 25 year old, there wasn’t much on offer for someone like me. There was lots of stuff for 60 year olds with loads of money, but not much for the young, budget traveller.

So the solution was Jump Tours - created by backpackers, for backpackers. Instead of a few thousand dollars for a tour, I made one that cost a few hundred. Instead of forcing people to pay for included meals, I let them cook their own to save some $$$. The main thing was to make it easy for young travellers to get to the best parts of Tasmania without charging them a fortune.

We designed a tour that took in the best Tasmania has to offer - both the big name spots like Cradle Mountain and Wineglass Bay, as well as the lesser known, but incredible places such as Montezuma Falls, Bay of Fires and Bruny Island.

In the end it became a 7 day itinerary - our Best of Tasmania 7 Day Tour! People with not much time on their hands can do parts of it - the Lap of Tassie 5 Day, Wild West 3 Day, even just a day trip to Bruny Island.
