Hobart on a snowy Winter’s day back in early Werndee days 😊

A Snowy blast from the past, photo c.1920's -Snowy view of the rural hillsides of Sandy Bay in the background, taken from West Hobart. Searching through TROVE, the Mercury newspaper records a snow event for 30th June 1919 and Ist July 1919 with photographers climbing to the top of Knocklofty to take photographs. Found early recordings for snow in Hobart and surrounds dated June 1882 and July 1882 and a number for the early 1900's and 1920's. This is possibly a photo taken in June 1919. (The last time there was snow down to sea level was in 2015.)

Cats can sit anywhere , especially when they want your attention , and I had time-out to do a jigsaw ! Just opened up new December dates in Griffon and Wren cottage due to a shuffle around ! Last chance before the silly season 😊

A very recent enquiry re our sorry sale of Werndee was from a grandmother on behalf of her 5 year old grandson who has been following Werndee on line and has saved nearly $25 towards buying it - hoping his Grandma would contribute the remainder ☺️
