UPDATE 6 SEPT - The City of Hobart advise that all tracks are now open to and from Fern Tree. A large tree down on the Silver Falls Track has been made 'passable' (or at least pass-under-able), and contractors will be on site on Mon/Tues to finish the clean up on the Silver Falls Track.

kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus

Hop onboard the kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus, rising 1270 metres above sea level to the summit of Hobart’s beloved kunanyi/Mt Wellington, experience spectacular views over Hobart and beyond.

Hop-on and hop-off at multiple bus stops and choose from an array of bushwalking tracks and mountain bike trails for all ages and abilities. Bus stops include Fern Tree Park, The Springs, The Chalet and The Pinnacle. Explore this diverse alpine landscape on foot or mountain bike, then hop on the next bus to return to the city.

The city to summit shuttle departs daily. The tour takes 2 hours to complete, including 20 minutes to take in the panoramic views at The Pinnacle before returning back to Hobart city.

Ticket options include an All-Day Bus Pass, One-Way Bus Pass and a Mt Wellington + City Loop Combo. This combo ticket also includes a 48hr ticket on Red Decker’s popular hop-on hop-off city loop tour.
