We were greeted,made to feel right at home.Spotless,comfortable rooms,cosy open fires in guest lounges,big comfy couches,well stocked honesty bar,just the way to end the day with a glass of wine by a roaring fire.Breakfast,again fireside in traditional dining style,the best home made bircher,great selection of yoghurts fresh fruits and breads,best ever just out of oven fruit muffins.Attention to detail a credit to the friendly managers,nothing too much trouble.I have no hesitation to recommend Franklin Manor.

Great News!

Looking for a winter getaway? Why not come West and enjoy our railway with new winter schedule.

We're excited to be announcing that we'll be running trains every day from Tuesday to Saturday, with experiences departing from Queenstown and Strahan on alternating days.

The Rack and Gorge (Queenstown to Dubbil Barril and return) experience will be leaving Queenstown at 10am on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays, taking you up the steepest section of the railway and then drop into the spectacular King River Gorge.

On Wednesdays and Fridays at 10am, you can hop aboard at Strahan and enjoy the River and Rainforest experience (Strahan to Dubbil Barril and return). This is a fantastic journey along the King River and into the magnificent wilderness that surrounds the region.

The new schedule begins on June 1 and will run through to the end of August - and bookings can be taken now online at our website (www.wcwr.com.au) and via phone (03 6471 0100).
