Wild Island promotes excellence in creative arts, craftsmanship and design. Meet the Wildlings! I’m sure you all know & love Madeleine Becker , just as we all do! Madeleine is a multi-talented photographer & musician and of course, an incredibly valued member of the Wild Island team. With her calm & considered approach, great eye & deep respect for the environment, she brings an abundance of attributes.
Madeleine loves being in the mountains, specifically the Walls of Jerusalem, Frenchman’s Cap & the beautiful & varied landscapes of takayna. While Mount Field West is her favourite day walk.
Madeleine identifies with the Swift Parrot, feeling ‘small, shy & constantly under threat’ (😉), but eagles soaring on the air currents make her heart sing! 🦅
Before working at Wild, Madeleine was a touring muso- an amazing cellist- based in Melbourne & working hospitality between gigs. We’re glad we’ve reclaimed her back in Tassie 💚

Tasman Wildlife Photography Workshop 1-3 November, 2024. During our last Tasman wildlife workshop, participants were lucky enough to find themselves at sea with thousands of short-tailed shearwaters. It was a truly wonderful & memorable experience- both Rob & Loic, your guides for the weekend, say it was their best wildlife experience to date! We are hoping for the same this year, plus lots of whales! 🐋 🤞 Info & bookings via our webpage
