In 1935, a map of kunanyi/Mt Wellington walking tracks was drawn by Vernon Hodgman (1909-1984).

The map was created to make the mountain more accessible and is a snapshot in time that features the unfinished road to the pinnacle as well as the main walking trails and huts.

kunanyi/Mt Wellington has sat above the river for thousands of years. For the muwinina people, it is a place of cultural and spiritual significance and a place of creation.

Have you ever seen the Walls of Jerusalem's flower show?

Each springtime, Richea scoparia—endemic to lutruwita / Tasmania—covers the fields of the national park in crimson, pink, orange, gold and white. Then in the summer, it transforms to a dark red colour from mountain rockets. What a spectacular sight to see. 👀

Our Story.

Locally owned and operated, See Tasmania offer day hiking experiences and private localised tours. Allowing visitors to delve deeper into destinations by sharing local stories, walks and produce. Started by two bushwalking guides, Daniel and Brenton, Our aim for guests is to enjoy Tasmania as we do, by hiking great trails and indulging in local food, beer and wine.

Each trip is tailored to capture the differences throughout Tasmania. The Maria Island trip explores what we believe is Australia’s most fascinating national park. Enjoy meals along the way, meet wombats and learn the island's rich historical charm.

Hiking to Cape Hauy, guests will stand high on top of dramatic dolerite cliffs, before enjoying an afternoon lunch by the beach at the stunning Fortescue Bay. One of Tasmania’s top-rated day hikes! At Cape Raoul stand above the Southern Ocean with a 14km return hike to the edge of Tasmania. View Shippies’ Tasmania’s big wave surf spot. The missing cape on the Three Capes Track,
