• Due to the recent rainfall event, hazards to navigation including debris such as large logs have been reported in the coastal and inshore waters in flood effected regions.
• Mariners are advised to navigate with caution.
• Reconsider the need to go out on the water in affected areas.
• Remember rain upstream may affect flows downstream, even if conditions are fine.

Very important!

If you're heading beyond smooth and partially smooth waters and more than 2 nautical miles from land (including islands) in open waters, you must carry a registered 406MHz EPIRB.

Lightweight craft (such as kayaks, small sailing boats under 6m, and PWCs) can opt for a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) instead—just make sure it’s GPS-enabled, floats, and is worn by the operator.

Once activated, an EPIRB or PLB sends a distress signal for at least 48 hours, helping search and rescue teams find you fast. Stay safe and make sure your beacon is registered and in working order!
