We took on the wet and wild weather and had our wins!
Even on dry fly😅

Stell had all sorts against him and stayed focused and got rewarded. Goes to show there’s no such thing as a bad day on the water. Especially with a versatile approach.
We actually had a insane dun hatch that lasted 30min.

Great couple of days showing Adam Simpson
Around our local trophy trout waters.
Adam fished really well and was rewarded with his patience.
The goal was one good fish on a dry fly. We achieved that goal and also worked on subsurface fishing to sighted fish.
Well done Adam. Beautiful fish mate.

Certainly dosnt feel like autumn with the warm weather of late. Though as I write it’s threatening rain and that is welcome.
The fish are still cooperating and even though some waters are low and beginning to warm up I think we will see some great fishing in the lower rivers with a bit of rain and a cool off. I’ve been staying off these streams for a while now and dying to revisit.
hoppers again have been pretty late and hope to see some great fishing as we approach the end of the season. Hopefully like last year we will have a hopper frenzy before the spawn.

We have availability’s for some of March and April.

Jessica Allen and Emma had there first crash course with ctho and boy did they fish well.
Jess with a goal of a big brook trout. She managed that on here first day along with a snowy river brownie.
The girls also caught browns and bows on the moonbah the next morning and then set off to the thredbo for the afternoon.
On the last session both the girls got stuck into some serious rainbow trout one being of trophy status.
A male at 5lb what better way to end a snowy mountains fishing adventure. Well done Jess.
The girls stayed at Freaks of Nature Retreat and loved being near the water 💯 of there stay.
For people that want a rural but luxurious style stay on Australia’s most iconic river, that seriously caters for anyone.
It’s hard to recommend anyone else.
Well done ladies!!

Bit of a photo dump from some personal fishing.
The fishing in general has been good. The weather has been the only thing that’s made the fishing at times unpredictable. For now it seems to have stabilised into true summer! About time 🙏☺️
I still have bookings for Feb and the end of March inquire within. Just a warning it’s peak season for me before I pull up on the rivers so these spots generally get taken up fast due to the great dry fly fishing opportunities 🤟

Been a big and weird month that’s for sure! Summer what’s that!!
Crazy rains have made things a little tough in regards to choosing a location but there’s always a fishing feeding somewhere.
As I write most rivers are settling but again we have rains in the future forecast. Not all doom and gloom as we will see the benefits just like the last 3 seasons.
I predict it will stabilise coming into February.
The big lakes continue to offer good consistent fishing so if your fave rivers not in the best condition Atleast we have still waters to fall back too. It’s probably wise to fall back into the lakes for the evening to make the most of the mudeye marches that are happening at present.
The high altitude lakes are starting to come into there own and will track well providing that we don’t get any freak snow.
It’s all looking good in the snowies! Real good if your a trout! Even better if your a cow! The grass is green on this side!

Steeno Bryan drummer from the The Pingers came on a half day mission to try out fly fishing for the first time.
Turns out drummers can fish!
Steve nailed some quality rainbow trout on drys and wets.

Been busy guiding and scouting! As we head into our peak season we have a lot to look forward to as we have now flicked back into elnino we are seen lots of rain the past week! Good I say for the future Health of lakes and rivers in the region, as some of the trophy water was getting low and warm. I think it’s safe to say it’s gotten through and we will see bigger and better fishing next year provided people don’t set it back to much.
During our warm patches rod and I set off to find big high country brownies. We focused on i.b pondage and the rivers around. There’s nothing better then a solid glamorous wild high country brown trout.
If your looking for a half or full day out.
We are still taking clients over December but like last year I expect them to fill fast.

The fishing has been excellent and we’re finally getting some good rain! Yewww!! That can only do good! Especially for some of the spring waters that are getting low. exiting times as we roll on to summer proper! I can feel the excitement from you guys with your inquiries and bookings as we get closer to peak season!

Some solid browns and crazy rainbows to be had. Some rare bows pushing he 4kg bracket!
Not to mention the donkey brookies.

Spring is definitely here!
All lakes still fishing well and the river opening is looking the best in years with most of the snow melt done with. There’s still some on the main range though I think that’s going to melt fast and come down the rivers moderately making navigating river’s easier. Not to mention good early bug generation!
pretty hard not to be excited!

More news we have new water to guide on for brook trout lovers. A private lake with 4 year old brook trout ranging from 4 to 7lbs sound interesting? Pics below.

Hey guys again sorry for the lack of posting. We have been busy on and off the water since winter.
I’ll keep it short and sweet, with the spring like weather fast approaching we have hit the spring transition. Majority of the fish are back in the lakes and feeding well.
All lakes seem to be fishing well and all sharing the title of being stand out from day to day.
Here’s a pic dump to show you guys what’s available in the snowies this time of year. Going to be a interesting season once open with fish rising well on scouting missions. Even though the wet years are over I think we’re going to see highlights we missed out on over the last 3 years.

Winters getting serious.

News!!
Well I’m a bit late here but we pulled the pin on the rivers earlier then normal this year due to early brown trout runs. For most that know us we arnt fans of fishing the spawn out of respect for our Australian trout. We don’t fish or guide for fish that are doing us favours and encourage others to do the same.

Rod did a great job guiding the tail end of the season while I was in recovery. I’m happy to announce I’m back guiding and can take on clients on the lakes over winter. The lakes at present are fishing well considering the weird annual transition from feeding to breeding!
Eucumbene is probably the most consistent but lake jindy on the right day is hard to beat. It’s not far off brilliance.

Rod Allen took Stelio Fardoulis out on a adventure on the eastern side of the snowy mountains last week showing him some beautiful fisheries and fish that inhabit them.
A pb wild brown trout, and ticking a few species off his list, a stunning Brook trout and a land locked Atlantic salmon.
All fish on dry flies to top it off!

Hey guys sorry about the lack of content.
Ctho has been flat out. As most of you may know I got into a nasty car accident a few weeks ago resulting in a busted femur busted noggin and some internal damages i have a long road to recovery. But! We havnt closed our doors! Rod Allen is still running! He has availability’s in his calendar and the fishing everywhere is still all class even though we have had more summer cold snaps the trout are still looking up!
Hq is now in Jindabyne! And we are lucky enough to have access to private sections of the lower snowy river! Thanks to our friends at freaks of nature retreat! Be sure to give them a sus as you could make a romantic weekend glamping with your partner and slip out for a guided half or full day with us ☺️ hehe see what I did there boys and gals!😉

We have some great future plans for a beginner private land locked fishery on the property and more! Pretty keen to work hard to get better be back on the water for the tail end of our river guiding season before we shift focus onto the lakes as we don’t guide spawn run.
