The Scout Snow trip is a Trip for Scouts to experience the snow at the best price possible. It is held Annually in the NSW snow fields. Who Can Come?

The Scout Snow trip caters for everyone. Whether you are a first timer who has never seen the snow before or a black run riding pro there is terrain for you to explore and hone your skills. These trips are a great opportunity for members of all ages to ski and board the slopes of Perisher, Australia's most popular snow holiday destination and the Southern Hemisphere's biggest alpine resort. The ac

tivity leaders organise accommodation, transport, most meals, lift tickets and ski hire. All you need to do is show up at the pick up point. With a program full of nothing but snow, how could anyone refuse? Positions on our coaches always fill quickly and based on the great conditions last season, we expect even greater demand this time. To avoid disappointment and ensure that you get a seat on the coach you should fill in your application forms and send them in with your money ASAP. Unfortunately seats can not be confirmed until payment and forms are received. The Scout Snow weekend is open to Scouts, Venturers, Rovers, Leaders and Parents. Joeys and Cubs are welcome to attend however due to the higher supervision required for their particular age group a Parent or other responsible adult must accompany them on the trip. When Do We Go? The Scout Snow Weekend will run over a weekend each winter. Check out the website for the dates of this years trip

Accommodation
We stay at the Alpine Activities centre, A Scouts NSW run property. Sleeping arrangements will be in the bunk room with a segregated area for males and females. Transport
Coaches will depart Castle Hill on Friday and return at approximately 10pm on Sunday. Depending on where you are coming from alterative pickup points may be able to be organised for you.

Tickets will go on sale on 1 February! So make sure you mark the dates on your diary.

Another wonderful weekend away with many scouts seeing snow for the 1st time. To make things even more exciting the sky's opened up and there was fresh snow falling for the majority of Sunday.

Here are a few pics and videos from the weekend. Our scouts were very easy to spot on the slopes with their fluro scarves.

A major winter weather event is set to develop across NSW this week, with very cold temperatures, damaging winds, heavy rainfall, flash flooding, hail and low level snow all expected.

Late Tuesday and into Wednesday, very cold upper level temperatures will move across NSW with rain and isolated thunderstorms. Small hail can be expected with any activity, with snow expected to fall across alpine areas, extending into elevated regions of the Blue Mountains, Central Tablelands and Northern Tablelands.

Heavy snow is expected for alpine regions with 50-100cm possible over the next 10 days, with the potential for 15-30cm across the Central Tablelands, Blue Mountains and 5-15cm to settle across the Barrington Tops and Northern Tablelands districts.

If you purchased the "Gear Rental" option for your Snow Trip ticket, you already have access to pretty much all the snow gear you will need for the weekend.
Aldi's gear is a good option if you want to purchase anything yourself.

Perisher Lift/Lesson Tickets Update

Perisher advises that a full range of lift & lesson tickets for the 2021 season at Perisher will be available for purchase from late May.

At this stage, it does not appear that Perisher will be restricting ticket sales, unless there is a COVID event where they need to manage capacity to allow for physical distancing.
