Take a wander to the unique red rocks of Berry Falls! This dog-friendly trail takes you through Jarrah, Marri and Wandoo woodlands to the fab falls. Tred this trail in late winter/early spring when Wooroloo Brook is in full flow and the bush is teeming with wildflowers and wildlife - many only found in this area.

Top tip: Head to Gidgegannup Bakery & Cafe afterwards for a fresh bake and coffee. Here’s our quick guide 👉

💦 FALLS PARK | Railway Reserves Heritage Trail
Have you heard of Falls Park? Found seconds from the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, these hidden Hovea cascades are just a 1.6 km stroll from The Parkerville Tavern. It’s an easy short walk for most ages and abilities, filled with wildflowers in early spring.

Starting at the tavern, follow Owen Road to the west, then join the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail. Keep your eyes peeled for the Falls Park sign on your right. The winding pathway opens out into a peaceful little spot. Afterwards, The Parky is perfect for cosying up with a cheeky drink and a bite to eat. Here’s our quick guide 👉

💦 WHISTLEPIPE GULLY | Mundy Regional Park
Whistlepie Gully is BACK this hiking season, after last year's carpark upgrade! This scarp-side trail follows a creek all the way up and down the edge of the Perth Hills. You're sure to spot the fascinating foundations along the way. They were part of an architect-designed Japanese-style house, that was built over the water in the 1960s.

The trail is particularly popular in early spring when the cascades are flowing, and the bushland is teeming with wildflowers. The creek is perfect for a paddle, making it a great family walk with dogs too. Here’s our quick guide 👇

MACORA WALK TRAIL | Byford Hills
If you, your dogs or kiddos have mountain goat skills, you'll love exploring this rocky trail. Also known as the Byford Hills Walk Trail, this gravel track has challenging slopes which are rewarded with a beautiful view!

Visit after a good rainfall to see the Macora Falls flowing over the 400 million-year-old rocks. In the local language, Macora means "wet season". Here’s our quick guide 👇

🌿 Take a winter wander through Araluen Botanic Park. There's lots to discover and enjoy in the pretty gardens - even when the tulips aren't blooming!

Their renowned Azalea and tea rose collections are breathtaking. Plus, there's cascading waterfalls, coffee at the cafe and plenty of spots for a picnic.

This little guy was captured Karakamia Wildlife Sanctuary in Gidgegannup this time last year. Our fauna and flora are starting to emerge from winter slumber, so keep an eye out when you're on the trails! Start the school holidays with a splash at the Kalamunda Water Park School's Out Pool Party this Thursday the 16th! Starting at 3:30 pm, it's going to be a massive afternoon with unlimited water slide access, live music, games giant inflatables and so much more! There's also a sausage sizzle so dinner is sorted!
