KEMPTON WINS PRELIMINARY FOR THE AGES

Highest point scorer Jace Kempton may not have had the luxury of starting on the front row in today’s East Pilbara Tyre Services Brian Rose Memorial Preliminary A-Main at Ellenbrook Speedway. However, he still brought the house down as he won a race of the ages between three of the young guns of Street Stock racing.

Courtesy of the U-Pick-Them format where the top-10 drivers drew each other’s starting position, Kempton’s eighth starting spot would not slow him down on his quest for the win—outshining Ben Norman and Damon Lyall.

Norman and Lyall worked smartly from the second row, outduelling Ken MacPherson and Shay Roberts, but the initial start only lasted to the back straight, where Roberts spun in front of the field, luckily not to be collected.

Norman and Lyall again rolled away within, with the remaining 20 laps something only dreams were made of for Speedway Sedan fans.

Lyall and Norman ran side by side for most of the race, with the gap never getting bigger than half a second, while Kempton smartly picked off the field to get to the leaders at the midway point.

Once Kempton was in play, all three hit the lead of the race at one point for the next ten laps, giving the healthy crowd at least some excitement not seen in the AFL on Grand Final day.

Meanwhile, further back in the field, Jamie Oldfield, who started ninth and Hayden Norman, who wasn’t even in the top-10, found the top side to their liking with Oldfield following in Norman's tyre tracks.

With two laps to go, Kempton finally found a gap on the two BA Falcons to clear his way to lead and from there was never headed.

After the restart, the race went the full 20-laps without fail, with all but one driver who took the green flag finishing the race.

Action from Ellenbrook Speedway is set to start at 11 am tomorrow with another three rounds of racing until the 50-lap main event.

Proud family brag about the sporting star on the back page of today’s Kalgoorlie Miner newspaper - our very own Kayne Dellar 🏁

The Dellar Family and friends are so proud of our son Kayne and his speedway racing achievements. The 2021/22 Speedway Season has certainly been a successful one for Kayne! On top of 18 wins throughout the state he achieved 1st place in the Tom Green Memorial Cup; was awarded Club Champion for Racing Drivers Australia (RDA) Top Star Juniors; awarded Club Champion for RDA across all divisions; 1st place for Top Star Juniors in the Bunbury Gold Cup - Kayne topped the season off with a trifecta of 3rd in the WA State Titles, 2nd in the Australia National Titles and 1st in the Victoria State Titles. Such an awesome way to top off his last year in the Juniors before he heads into the open racing grades.

But aside from all these amazing achievements, we are most proud of Kayne’s sportsmanship off the track and his clean racing on it. He always makes time for his fellow competitors as well as the young fans who want to talk to him about his car, his driving or just getting a selfie. Kayne loves all the great friends he has made over his 5 years racing. His contribution to the sport has been recognised by the sport’s governing body – Junior Speedway Racing Association - JSRA – have invited Kayne to be a special guest speaker to their junior drivers at their AGM.

We have to admit that a couple of years ago, there’s a chance that this may not have been possible when Kayne had a motorbiking accident and broke his neck and back. Doctors told him that he shouldn’t race again – but he didn’t focus on that. His recovery was focused on getting racing again and his achievements in this 21/22 season have been recognition for all the hard work that he has put in on and off the track.

We also thank all his amazing sponsors that have kept him on the road as he has travelled all around WA and across to Victoria for the Nationals and Victorian State Titles last month and to Darwin later this month for the NT State Titles.

At the present time, KCLD Cleaning is not offering Vacate Cleans as a service.

Wanting to ensure that we maintain the high standard of clean to our existing domestic and corporate clients - we have made the difficult decision to not offer vacate cleans at the current time. Like most businesses in the Goldfields, KCLD has been affected by the challenge to recruit staff.

We continually review our services and staffing levels and this decision may change in the future.
