That's a wrap for the extended summer season at Lakes Entrance.

The 🚁 has been relocated to its winter home, however, we may have availability for limited Scenic Flights 3-5, Heli Experiences and charters from Bairnsdale Airport on good weather days. Please call if you have a particular requirement.

Thank you to everyone who flew with us this season. It was our pleasure to showcase the Gippsland Lakes from a different perspective. We loved the joy it brought so many people and the many stories shared.

We will be back late spring, most likely around cup weekend. Stay safe!

We are honoured to be invited to the Heyfield Timber Festival 2021 & beyond this year to provide Helicopter 🚁 Joy Flights.

Obviously, we will not be operating at Lakes Entrance Airfield on this day. Why not head to Hayfield for the day for all sorts of fun and activities for all ages.

We are excited to be having Lakes Entrance Helicopters coming to the Heyfield Timber Festival on the 17th Feb 2024 to be offering joy flights!

They will be operating from the event and you can purchase tickets on the day, you will find them in there tent near the market stall holders!

If you don’t want to miss this opportunity, get in quick. Gates open at 9am!!

Sandbars of the Tambo River, Raymond Island and Mitchell River Silt Jetties formed over thousands of years by sediment deposition. A very shallow lake system with a maximum depth of approximately 40ft, the stunning water clarity allows for spectacular views of the sandbars and lake system.

How do you capture the enormous scale of a commissioned project to move many tonnes of large rocks into an inaccessible location? You combine handheld, drone and higher altitude aerial videography, taking you on a journey from loading at Bullock Island, transporting across the channel by barge to the Barrier Landing and unloading onto dump trucks for transportation along Ninety Mile Beach to the Western Sea Wall.

You may have driven to the Eagle Point Bluff or observed it from the Mitchell River below. Seeing it from above is a very different perspective. It is the highest point in the area and when the late afternoon sun is just right it accentuates the colours of the cliff face. There are some incredible features throughout the Gippsland Lakes that can be viewed from land, sea or above. Scenic Flights 3, 4 & 5 fly over the Bluff.

All our Scenic Flights include a portion of Ninety Mile Beach. To fly the full length (there and back) would take approximately 95 minutes … it is a long stretch of continuous sand.

Have you ever wondered what The Entrance looks like at 1,500 feet (~457 metres)?

You can observe the different waters (fresh & salt), the power of the tides and movement of sand, boats passing and if we are lucky spot schools of fish, dolphins or seals. It is a macro perspective of a man made channel that has been weathering the elements since the late 1800's.

The recent rains and flooding has caused the Mitchell River to purge volumes of silt water into Lake King creating an amazing contrast of colours that can be observed on Scenic Flights 3, 4 & 5.

Flying this weekend 🚁 if you haven’t seen the silt jetties yet maybe now is the time.

Impressive from the road as you venture out further and further - the land narrows and you’re surrounded by water either side, but seeing the sheer breadth and length of this natural landscape is best from the sky.
