Pick up a loaf of the world’s best sourdough bread from the General Store (or General Cafe), as well as locally produced olive oil, honey and deli products. In warmer weather, the local swimming pool is a short stroll along the main street (even shorter through the back paddock) and Bendeela Reserve on the Kangaroo River is also a great swimming option. If you’re looking to get out and about, you can hire a kayak and paddle down the Kangaroo River, enjoy one of the many bushwalks in the area, visit a local winery or even pop over to Shoalhaven or Culburra surf beaches or the relatively calm waters of Jervis Bay.
