I’m so hooked on magnet fishing it’s not funny! 🤪 Got so many scores today, including a 7m long metal pole, a crab pot, a massive drill bit & various old nails!

Addicted to collect metal, but also can’t walk past rubbish, so during my beach walk with Butchie, I collected quite an array of things- though none considered ‘treasures’ 🤪😎

It’s funny how your brain works, after spending the last two days on tour speaking French, tonight, while I was loading the firewood I inadvertently touched my dog and said “Pardon”, sorry in French.
I never speak french to my dog!!! Always Italian and sometime English.
We both had a perplexed look as soon as it happened, LOL 🤪

Some spider Mums selflessly (well, that’s an understatement) feed themselves to their spiderlings to keep them alive, while others nurture their offspring until they’re ready to venture out into the world.

Pictured here is a Kangaroo Island Micro Trapdoor Spiderling (Moggridgea rainbowi) at its burrow door. These spiderlings are tiny white versions of the adult species and stay protected by their Mum, living in her burrow for months until they’re ready to go out and build burrows of their own. Sadly, the KI Micro Trapdoor Spider was a bushfire victim and vital research continues to be undertaken by SA Museum Honorary Research Associate Dr Jess Marsh to better understand how we can protect surviving populations.

To all the amazing Mum and Mum-like figures out there who put us first and keep us safe, today we celebrate you! 🫶

This echidna is bubbling with cuteness. 😊

While other animals sweat or pant to stay cool under the Aussie sun, echidnas have other ideas. ☀

Turns out echidnas, *checks notes*, blow snot bubbles and perform belly flops.

The snot bubbles burst and wet the tip of their nose. This cools a pool of blood just under their skin at the top of their snout. 👃

When that’s not hitting the spot, they’ll perform belly flops on cool surfaces.

Sometimes dealing with humans all day long can be challenging, but at my work, I just need to turn around see a beautiful sealion face or a funny position/behaviour and immediately everything is & feels better!
These are the sites that cheered me up today ❤️ 🦭❤️
Ps: on the last shot, end of day, an “intruder” in the sealion colony made my day!…spot the kangaroo!! 🤪 ❤️ 🦘❤️

Pretty wild conditions today, after fishing the sea lions where quickly retreating behind the sand dunes for protection from the freezing South Pole wind!
Just had two days of crazy wild weather, huge seas, with ferry cancellations & some national parks considering to shut down.
It was wild on tour & I love it! 🤗😃
