Good morning Barnbougle Dunes!
It was an absolute pleasure hosting Miriam on our Taste of the Outback tour earlier in the year. Hear what she had to say about her experience.
Meet Ross Fargher. The Flinders Ranges and the outback are in his blood, and his family has lived in the area for generations. Ross and his wife Jane run the Prairie Hotel in Parachilna, South Australia. It's one of our favourite overnight destinations, with a charming heritage pub serving outstanding cuisine, including some of our local wildlife.
The Flinders Ranges has a rich geological and archaeological history, and Ross loves sharing this with our guests as we take a 4WD tour through the ranges.

How was walking on Lake Eyre? Hear from local Lisa Mitchell at Muloorina Station as well as some of our recent guests!
"It's nothing for as far as the eye can see, it's just salt. I love it. You have to be there to experience it, you can't explain seeing nothing to someone..."
So many guests tell us that seeing an emu or wallaby up close in the wild was the highlight of their tour! There's something pretty special about it. Wildlife is really a big part of Australia's identity.
Hans talks about his adventure on our Taste of the Outback Tour.
Throwback to last month's film shoot with our friends at Rat & Dragon! This is our kind of highlights reel!
Taste of the Outback
Join pilots Tony and Nick on our Taste of the Outback Tour! It's our most popular tour, taking guests to visit Lake Eyre, Birdsville and the Flinders Ranges on a three or four day adventure.
Escaping the Melbourne winter, you'll head north to Lake Mungo Lodge and Broken Hill, before pushing into central Australia to the Innamincka Hotel and Birdsville Hotel! Sunset drinks on Big Red with Desert Edge Tours and a night in Birdsville are followed by a low level flight over the Diamantina River and Lake Eyre. Landing at Muloorina Station, you'll drive out to the edge of Lake Eyre and walk on it's surface, before continuing south the the Flinders Ranges to visit Arkaroola Resort and Wilderness Sanctuary or the Prairie Hotel for the final night of the tour.
Tours run March through to September, so we're well and truly in season. Places are still available on our June and July tours, with more information available on our website or by calling 1300 206 130.

Lake Eyre is the destination that so many people contact us wanting to visit. It's famous for so many reasons, from Donald Campbell's speed record attempt through to the spectacle of the lake in flood.
During the dry, the lake forms a stunning white crust. It's a once in a lifetime experience to see, and one that every Australian should tick off their bucket list.
Big Red Sand Dune, Simpson Desert, is the first of more than 1000 dunes as you travel west from Birdsville, Queensland into the Simpson Desert. It's one of our favourite locations for sunset drinks with the help of Desert Edge Tours.
Gear up at Lake Mungo Lodge!
Our Piper Navajo can take-off from all sorts of runways, and she's more at home on gravel than bitumen.

I wanted a Taste of the Outback
I wanted a Taste of the Outback.
It's the publican offering you a cold beer at the Birdsville Hotel or the station dog that's excited to meet you at Muloorina Station.
It's a coffee on a cool morning at Lake Mungo Lodge or a perfectly cooked steak at the Royal Exchange Hotel in Broken Hill.
It's a cruise on the flowing Cooper Creek thanks to the Innamincka Hotel or a lunch out on the dry expanse of Lake Eyre.
It's the allure of the charming Prairie Hotel or the sheer beauty of Big Red in Birdsville.
It's an extraordinary adventure.
Shot on location on one of last month's tours, with the help of some of our friends from Outback Australia and the guys at Rat & Dragon. It's all about the destinations, the people and the journey itself.
