Cape York remains one of the least accessible parts of Australia, still requiring a 4WD to access hundreds of kilometres of dirt roads that lead to the most northern tip of the Australian mainland. Travelling by private aircraft cuts out the drive and adds stunning views to one of the country's iconic journeys.
Cape York Air Safari is a 13-day adventure up into Queensland, visiting Birdsville, Karumba, Thursday Island, Lizard Island, Cooktown, Longreach and Carnarvon Gorge. Travelling in groups of up to nine like-minded guests, you'll see parts of the country that most Australians never get to see.

Lake Eyre May 2024
Lake Eyre is looking stunning in May! Pilot Nick was lucky enough to capture some footage of the lake on a trip last weekend!
Lake Eyre North has extensive coverage with water continuing to flow from the Warburton River from the north. Water in the Diamantina (which flows into the Warburton) continues to flow through Birdsville into the Goyder Lagoon, which will make its way south over the coming weeks.
We've got several tours that visit Lake Eyre, including several with spots still available in May, June and July this year. It's a fantastic time to go see this amazing part of the country.

Lake Eyre is one of our most popular destinations, with five seperate tours featuring it on the journey. Jill has visited Lake Eyre three seperate times with Australian Air Safaris, and has been lucky enough to see it in the dry and in flood.
Jill has been on 6 trips over the past few years, including three visits to Lake Eyre! She sat down with Jarrod this week to tell us a bit more about her experiences and why she keeps coming back.
Our pilots are very lucky to get to visit so many beautiful places with our guests, so we thought we'd ask them what their favourite destination is! First up is pilot Rob Thomas chatting about his love for Finniss River Lodge.
If it sounds like your kind of place, the Ultimate Outback Air Safari is for you!
Here are 5 things you should know about Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre!
1) It spans 144 kilometres by 77 kilometres. If you want to try and picture how big that is, it is over 28,000 times larger than Central Park.
2) It is Australia’s biggest salt lake and was formed approximately 200 million years ago
3) The lake has only filled to capacity three times in the last 160 years. However, smaller sections of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre do become wet, just like now.
4) The dry conditions mean the Basin's vegetation is mostly desert-adapted plants – mulga, saltbush, spinifex and Mitchell grass.
5) Aboriginal people have been living around Kati Thanda for thousands of years, and it plays a central role in many of their stories and songs. It is particularly important to the Arabana and the Dieri People.
Getting to see Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre from above is such a magical experience. We would love to see you on board one of our many tours that visit Lake Eyre very soon.

When he's not in the cockpit and touring around Australia with our wonderful guests, Callum is a car enthusiast and enjoys maintaining his Holden Commodore.
