This image will break your heart 💔💔

Thousands of avocados are being dumped in rubbish tips in North Queensland.

Farmers say it’s cheaper to throw the avos away than send them to stores to resell.

Increasing labour and shipping costs means it’s not worth their while to pack and send the stock.

Chucking them out is the cheapest and easiest option.

We’ll speak to a farmer about the issue LIVE after 7am tomorrow on 2GB Breakfast.

A huge thank you to Seasol for this amazing donation for flooded gardens in Brisbane! The 10L drum in the middle is for Jimboomba Community Garden who were devastated by flooding in February. The recovery efforts continue, even as we all watch and hope this weather system eases soon. If you were flooded and would like some Seasol to help pick up your plants, you can collect it from me or at the Yeronga Community Centre

5:40PM UPDATE: Heavy rain areas are becoming more confined to areas between Bundaberg and the Sunshine Coast now with the primary focus over the Wide Bay and Fraser Coast. These areas are still under the influence of a convergence zone leading to ‘rain trains’ producing continual heavy, prolonged rainfall. Since 9am, falls of more than 100mm have been observed over Hervey Bay and parts of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, with widespread falls of 50-100mm between Bundaberg and North Brisbane. Continued river and creek rises are LIKELY with many creeks and rivers reaching or exceeding moderate flood levels and some eventually reaching MAJOR flood levels as upstream catchments start to flow.

The big question mark is currently over the South East Coast. Conditions are still favourable for further heavy rainfall and high-resolution model data is indicating more rain to come tonight and into tomorrow morning - however radar is momentarily clearing. The perfect scenario is that high-res data is overcooking the rainfall accumulations and the rain is in fact clearing. However to be on the cautious side, IF further moderate to heavy showers / rainfall was to develop then renewed flash flooding and further river and creek rises are LIKELY! Regardless of further rainfall - there is still a lot of upstream catchment impacts that will lead to downstream river rises - this includes the Condamine, Bremer, Logan and Albert river systems in particular, along with the associated tributaries and creeks, where MAJOR flooding is already ongoing. So just because the situation is calmer, doesn’t mean it’s over! We still advise people NOT to travel unless absolutely necessary as countless roads are, and will be flooded for at least the remainder of today - if not well into tomorrow.

Curious....

How the east mislead the west. China and Russia below to the G20, go along for decades to see how stupid the west is. Tell them yes global warming is a problem so you must use renewables and close power stations. China sells all the renewables to the west, Russia sells all the oil and gas. Then we sell the ports, water , airports and utilities to China, its like selling the front door to your house but you cant get in, the public servants get all these back handers. You cant vote for any major party. Gann said start thinking for yourself.

Can't hurt...

For those with those spring colds...A old timer told me this I was deathly sick last year bought every single thing to help but to no avail. So I tried this. Take a raw onion. Any brand. Stronger the better. Cut onion in Half about inch thick two table spoons sugar sprinkled over. In bowl microwave 2 minutes " they used to boil back in day" makes a syrup
Take while hot. Calms coughs instantly,
Helps with congestion, getting phlegm up... take every few hours as needed
Works better than any money spent.. it really works.. Reheat at least 3xs to get more syrup. And it actually works better than anything.

Who has a glass top stove top? How do you clean it?

Have a messy or crusty glass stove top? This totally works!

First, fill a bowl with hot tap water water and mix it with some dish soap. Submerge the rag in the bowl to get it wet. Apply baking soda in a generous amount all over your stove top. Now pull that hot soapy rag out of the bowl and squeeze half the water out. You want it to be soggy, not sopping. Lay it across the stove. Then wait about 15 minutes…once the time is up swirl the rag around in circles, using the baking soda paste as a gentle scrub. Then dry up the surface and shine it with a cloth. Good as new!! You can also leave the rag on for longer, depending on how bad it is. Get it to sparkle & shine by spritzing the surface with a little bit of vinegar, and wipe clean.
