Spoonies having a feed in the estuary. They have vibration detectors, called papillae, on the inside of the spoon, which means the Spoonbill can feel for prey items even in murky water and can feed by day or night. Tho, It must be hard to get everything down the spoon! #bestbirdsever #spoonbill
Introducing Matata a local male bottlenose with his mate who we haven’t got an ID on yet. Dolphins cruising our rivers… how special is that?!? We ❤️ our local dolphins so much. To help our local unique bottlenose population we record our sightings on the DBCA marine fauna sightings app. We also help with @estuaryguardians where we can.
What can you do to help our local dolphins?
🐬Slow down on boats
🐬give them space
🐬record your sightings to the app
🐬contact @riverguardians to sign up to Dolphin watch to volunteer,
🐬and be sure to keep our waterways clean.

A happy start to our Easter Sunday kayaking tour… setting up kayaks with 🐬friends swimming by
Immaculate Autumn weather. This is where we walk to on our breaks to think, dream and plan… thank you nature for always being there for us. Guided walks or kayaks this time of the year are amazing. Book in to come explore!
A decision to go for a morning swim… and then coming across up to 200 Carnaby Cockatoos! Oh my what a magical moment to start the day!!!
Down River Meandering... We love our guided river kayak tours because you always feel better, lighter, clearer after a couple hours on the river. River therapy we call it... no need to talk about any issues, just immerse yourself in nature and your mind gets a break from the everyday!
Learning to sail is fun and easy when you try a Yak Sailing Tour. Calm beautiful waterways, stable easy to use vessels, learn to sail lessons and guide that can sail with you until you feel good to go on your own or right beside you. Come learn to sail! Thanks to @mummygunney for getting @georgia_gunther and @lukesugar out sailing with us.
Carnaby’s calling. Some complain about the noise of cockatoos. I cherish their noise, it is Australia, it makes me feel home. This group was part of around 70 Carnaby’s that we found while driving home ( top tip: always keep a car window open so you don’t miss the sounds of nature). Imagine when there used to be flocks of hundreds of Carnaby’s around. Follow @savetheblackcockatoos #blackcockatoocrisis to ensure these birds are making a raucous of noise for generations to come!
