Did you know: Chants have been coming to Lakes Entrance every summer holiday for 8 years now and we are delighted to have them back again creating memories!

Who's got their Lantern ready for the Lakes Lights Festival?! 26 Jun 2021 Lakes Entrance Footbridge, Esplanade & Slipway from 5pm.

LAKES LIGHTS is a full moon, winter solstice, lantern-filled highlight of the East Gippsland Winter Festival. After weeks of community lantern-making workshops we will gather at dusk, at the Lakes Entrance Footbridge to begin our moonlit walk across the Cunninghame Arm towards the surf. Follow our unicycling lantern-juggler to discover our light sculptures and projections, set among the shores of the Lake’s edge. Be welcomed by local Elders and a lake chorus. Share East Gippsland’s love of our flora and fauna in light and song – and Virtual Reality.

The festival does not conclude there with an array of local food stalls, markets & entertainment on the Lakes Entrance Foreshore Events Area. The array of fire pits will keep you warm, sample on some local food stall creations and soak up the live music while we sit under the stars and be amazed in what will be a festive evening

Lamp lovers can continue to the Iceworks to soak up the glow of the inaugural F/LAMP exhibition, surrounded by the laneway projections of the LAKES LIGHTS artists.

HOOK A $10,000 FISH IN GIPPSLAND !

Grab your rod and your tackle box and head to Gippsland

The Victorian Fisheries Authority is tagging 1000 fish with golden markers to be released into waterways in Gippsland and North East Victoria.

Those who catch the first 10 golden fish will get $10,000 each and the rest of the fish will be worth $2000.

There will be 1000 fish tagged.
