The Old Laravale School - Your Unique Group Getaway

Find your home away from home at Willmann House, a thoughtfully renovated farmhouse set high on the grounds of The Old Laravale School near Beaudesert in the Scenic Rim, close to Rathdowney, Mt Barney, Wyaralong Dam, Christmas Creek and Lamington. Gather your friends and make new memories in this historic 1907 homestead that sleeps up to nine ad

ults and is set back from the original school building (which you can also book as a workspace for craft or sewing retreats - details below). Receive a warm welcome from host Wendy, who lives just down the hill, then enjoy the peace and quiet of your self-contained space. Get comfortable across your choice of seven single and two double beds in two bedrooms and two sleepouts (all with air conditioning). Prepare meals in your fully equipped kitchen and eat in unique style around a dining table made from recycled roofing timbers found in the ceiling of what is now the front verandah. Settle into the spacious loungeroom at the heart of the homestead and warm yourself
around the potbelly stove or cool off under the ceiling fans. If you can peel yourself away, take a picturesque drive to the Scenic Rim’s many hiking trails, lakes, wineries and eateries. For provisions, Beaudesert is only 10 minutes down the road and has several local cafes, pubs, boutique shops and supermarkets. With horses and cows as your closest neighbours, and sweeping views across paddocks to the Border Ranges, you’ll feel a world away from your responsibilities even though you’re only an hour from Brisbane, Ipswich and the Gold Coast.

What an awesome night we had in Boonah at the Scenic Rim Business Excellence Awards. The Old Laravale School was nominated in 2 categories *Excellence in Tourism & Accommodation *Most Outstanding New Business We were FINALISTS in the New Business Category! Eeek! It was so exciting to be sharing the evening with so many already well known Scenic Rim businesses. Congratulations to Tamborine Mountain Distillery for winning the Excellence in Tourism award, and to e360 Design for the Most Outstanding New Business. The night was very inspiring, hearing of innovations put into place by some businesses impacted by bushfires and disasters, and chatting with other tourism businesses too. Dinner was a devine experience for the taste buds prepared with local produce (of course) by Scenic Rim Event Catering. The Hollywood theme of the night was very glam.

Delicious 30mm in about 15 minutes. Lots of run off Sorry it's sideways, haven't worked out how to fix that yet lol
