Earthshack Sustainability Demonstration Site Hands on sustainability experiences in the rolling green hills of Lardner, West Gippsland, Victoria. Just over an hour from Melbourne.

Welcome to Earthshack, our names are Kim & Andy Musgrove and we are passionate about sustainability. Kim is an experienced and registered teacher, with a background in both primary and secondary teaching. She is also a permaculture designer and home sustainability assessor. She designed the 8.4 star, off-grid, energy efficient, strawbale house in Lardner, West Gippsland they now call home. Andy is

a park ranger and the owner builder of Earthshack. The Earthshack property is being grandually transformed from a grazing monocuture to a sustainable mixed farm using permaculture principles and organic farming methods. The property is just a stones throw from Lardner Park, a popular venue for markets, expo's, Farm World and agricultural field days

We've upgraded to gel batteries at Earthshack.
Our original lead acid batteries have been faultless and would be awesome for a cabin or shed. The trick to keeping these alive for quite a few years will be:
- topping up the water regularly (say once a month or so)
-letting them enjoy a slower pace lifestyle, demand less of them in their senior years... for those who have been to Earthshack, you've seen what we have plugged in year round, so just peg it back a bit
