15 years after planting native trees along the creek, we finally have our first koala at Earthshack.
We heard some growls coming from the creek a few days ago and today he appeared in the oak tree next to the house. Best day ever!

We've upgraded to gel batteries at Earthshack.
Our original lead acid batteries have been faultless and would be awesome for a cabin or shed. The trick to keeping these alive for quite a few years will be:
- topping up the water regularly (say once a month or so)
-letting them enjoy a slower pace lifestyle, demand less of them in their senior years... for those who have been to Earthshack, you've seen what we have plugged in year round, so just peg it back a bit
