It’s been a year already since we said goodbye to dear Scotty (Quentin Scott) the Barefoot Bush Poet, who died suddenly on 17 October 2022. We still miss him greatly and remember him very fondly. We think of him often but especially down by the campfire at the riverside in the evenings. Here are a few memories in tribute to a true outback hero. RIP Scotty.

ANOTHER HERO TO THANK! We wouldn’t have the Pride of the Murray back on the bank without the help of so many people who’ve given their time and expertise. Rewind to last week and Richard Moore of Moore Civil and Plant Hire was our hero who worked overnight to make sure the hardstand was ready for the Pride when she emerged from the water. Richard made this video with ‘Moorey’ to capture the moment and say thank you for his outstanding help.

HOME AND HOSED! The community spirit was in full force on the weekend when the good men and women of the Ilfracombe Rural Fire Service volunteered their time to help us super-charge the clean-up. Richard Kinnon got to hold the hose too and he sends a huge thank-you to these generous folks who showered the Pride of the Murray with attention. We are truly lucky to have people like this around us.
