I am a local birder who runs birdwatching tours on demand. Our local birdwatching group also has a Facebook group, Longreach Birding.

Well over 200 species of birds can be seen in the Longreach region, with more able to be seen within a short drive

Longreach has some great night birds, not just owls, but also nightjars and frogmouths.

It’s pretty amazing to walk around town seeing emus and brolgas wandering around and frogmouths chilling on the roof. ☺️
