Alkira Bruny Island 'Alkira' shack is a homely short term accommodation located on Bruny Island, Tasmania It is a short drive to Cloudy Bay, The Lighthouse and Bruny Island Winery.

Welcome to our homely family shack ‘Alkira’ on Bruny Island �

Our spacious 2 bedroom holiday house is situated in Lunawanna, Bruny Island. Other attractions include the Bruny Island Cheese Co, The Smokehouse, The Chocolate Factory, Berry Farm, Oyster Farm, and Adventure Bay Tours. At here is also a coffee shop that's close by and we are also close to the only pub on the island! It is situated on

the quiet part of the island with a beautiful beach within walking distance from the shack. You can enjoy spectacular views of the Hartz Mountains and the D'entrecasteau channel every morning sitting out on the front deck. The shack has two large, newly decorated bedrooms and a room off the second bedroom which has a bunk bed for extra guests/children. All linen is provided and tastfully decorated. Although we have redecorated to include homely comforts and a rustic design, ''Alkira'' still maintains that shack look and feel which is why we love coming over to Bruny to unwind and relax. Our bright and sunny kitchen is also fully equipped and there are even some cook books for inspiration. We have a woodheater in the living room which heats the whole house on those rare chilly nights. Outside there are BBQ facilities and an outdoor entertaining area which you can enjoy. Whether you want to stay a few days or a couple of weeks you can be assured that our shack has everything you need away from home. Even though we live in Hobart, guests are welcome to contact us anytime and there is also a book of brochures about Bruny Island for you look through. ''Alkira'' means ''bright and sunny'' in aboriginal which we think is the perfect description for our warm and inviting Bruny Shack.
