The Club was formed in the late 1980’s by a group of a dozen like minded people interested in forming a local cycle racing club in the Peel District of Western Australia. Since then the club has grown to its present size of more than 130 members, of which 80 are competitively active. The Club takes its name from the original Peel District which stretched from Pinjarra to Kwinana taking in all of M

andurah and most of Rockingham. Geographically, membership is split roughly one half Rockingham, one quarter Mandurah/Pinjarra and the remaining quarter made up of members from the Serpentine Jarrahdale Shire, Bunbury and south metropolitan areas. The Club has always been at the leading edge of competitiveness and during the last few years has excelled with the achievements of one of the younger members, Peter Dawson, in becoming a Olympic Champion (Team Pursuit 2004), Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, World Champion and the breaking of the World Record on two occasions. The Club has an extremely popular social touring group based in the Rockingham area and riding twice weekly for local sightseeing and coffee stops.

We’ve currently got 4 men’s TTT groups ready to charge into the nationals course and looking for one more B/C grade rider. You might also get your mates together and create a new team! Sitting at the coffee shop in late January, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell your riding buddies that you represented your club at nationals?

We’d love to see a mixed or female team join the charge. Don’t be concerned about age differences, just hit up 3 other folks who race in the same grade. The plan is to create a supportive group in the build-up to nationals in January:
• 7 weeks of training with the crew, starting Saturday 23rd November. 🏋🏻 💪
• Saturday rides 6:30 from BP Baldivis, finishing by 8:30 at King Road Brewing for breakfast and socialising. ☕ 🥯
• Virtual rides during the week on the TTT and Gran Fondo courses. 💻 ✇

It's a lot of extra work to update race numbers, timing chip details and so forth to deal with late entries, so please help out our Race Organisers by organising Yo'self :)

It is with sadness that the club shares the news of the passing of one of our long-term volunteers, Eric Maddock, last Friday after a long battle with cancer. He much enjoyed riding himself, as well as watching all levels of bike racing. His bold personality will be missed by everyone.
