🌿 Mareeba Shire – Rain or Shine! ☔🌄 It’s a bit wet up here and with the rains comes an abundance of waterfalls and lush new growth. We wanted to let you know that while some travel routes and services are experiencing minor interruptions, most of Mareeba Shire remains open and ready to welcome you when it’s safe to do so. A few key points as of today, Tuesday 4 Feb.

🚡 Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is OPEN providing panoramic views of the mighty Barron Falls and Gorge, and the stunning rainforest surrounds!
🚉 Kuranda Scenic Railway is temporarily closed until Sunday.
🚗 Some roads and telecommunications may be affected—please check conditions before traveling and stay up to date by signing up for SMS alerts on road conditions and checking in with the Mareeba Shire emergency dashboard – link to both in comments.

Make the most of every moment! Slow down, take care and enjoy our many indoor attractions and activities, including shopping at the markets, boutiques and galleries, visiting our wildlife attractions and museums, coffee at cozy cafés, long lunches and grab an umbrella for local walks.

Pop into the Mareeba Heritage Museum and Visitor Information Centre today – over 6,000 items on display – something for all ages – and the café has fresh juices, coffee, cakes and meals.

Shout out to our farmers, all hard at work growing so much beautiful fresh produce. As you explore our shire, keep an eye out for mangoes, lychees, watermelons, pawpaw and banana. There's sometimes roadside stalls, but please do not enter a farm without permission, due to biosecurity safety.
