An awesome day trip for guests

Hamelin Bay used to be a small port servicing timber mills of the southwest between Cape Leeuwin and Cape Naturaliste, but turns out the waters were too difficult to navigate (and as such there’s a heap of wrecks off the coast in the area).

Nowadays it’s a tourism hotspot thanks to beautiful beaches with the potential for excellent snorkelling, diving, fishing and of course, intimate moments with stingrays sometimes as big as 2m across!

Our 8 well-appointed (self-contained) cottages surround a central lawned area and gas-fired BBQs are available for outdoor living. Each cottage has a covered verandah with an outdoor setting, and guests are often seen relaxing outside while watching the birds and the resident free-range chickens. We’re just a leisurely stroll from the Visitors’ Centre, shops, bars and restaurants. With its affordability, easy accessibility and convenience to all of the region’s delights, Peppermint Brook Cottages is highly regarded by many visitors who return again and again. Coin operated laundry facilities are available. For the young (and young at heart) we have a large fully-enclosed trampoline and a Goalrilla Basketball system. We provide a simple “starter” breakfast comprising cereal, milk, bread, orange juice and tea / coffee. Otherwise, this is a self-catering property.

All 8 cottages are of brick and iron construction and have 2 bedrooms, a shared bathroom, sitting area, dining facilities, fully-equipped kitchen and covered front verandah (with outdoor setting).

6 have a queen-sized bed in the main bedroom and a queen plus double bunks in the 2nd and the remaining 2 have a queen-sized bed in 1 room and 2 double beds in the other. Where 1 or 2 guests book, it will be assumed that the booking is for a single or twin / double and the 2nd bedroom will be locked. If you require the use of the 2nd bedroom for any reason, extra bed charges will apply.

Throughout the cooler months, electric blankets are supplied (for all beds except the bunks); and we also supply a hair dryer, iron and ironing board.
