Our Flavours of Coburg tour, running since 2018 is getting a facelift.

The new name is Melbourne Insiders’ Brunch Tour & will run for 2hrs instead of 3. It’ll feature our favourite brunch spots & show how you don’t need to spend big to do brunch well in Melbourne. More info coming soon.

People usually start off a bit shy & quiet on our tours but it doesn’t take long before they seem like besties who’ve known each other forever. The best part is when they stick around even after we leave… awwww.

Remember when Vanilla Slices were all the rage?
We’re not sure why they’re no longer ‘en trende’ but they should be!

Light, flaky pastry filled with a delicious, smooth custard & then glazed with icing.

What’s not to like about that? At the Pie Place in Coburg you’ll find one of the best Vanilla Slices of your life!
They’re made fresh daily, are not too sweet and the pastry is so easy to bite through that you don’t end up with custard all over yourself!
We serve them up on our food tours & our guests just love them!

Coburg
One of the best things about Coburg is Victoria Mall.
It feels exactly like a European piazza where people come together, all ages, all races & religions, to eat great food, have great conversations & soak up the community vibes.

Sure it needs a facelift, it’s not modern & renovated like most other parts of Mwlbourne but that’s part of its charm. For anyone who’s been, you know what we’re talking about & for those of you that haven’t, then you must!

A bit about me...
Hi! My name’s Raffaela (I was named after my paternal grandmother).
Some of you have met me on tour and others I have yet to meet in person.

I’ve always loved food but it wasn’t until my early 30’s that I realised I wanted a career in food (never too late to find your path!) I was lucky to get a job at the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival back in 2014 and it was there that my eyes were opened to the world of careers in food.
Of all the possibilities, I fell in love with Food Tours. They combine everything I love and all the things I’m naturally good at; hosting, finding great food, educating, making new connections with people and promoting great businesses.

I grew up in Melbourne’s north and when I realised that nobody was promoting the area, I decided to start my own tours.
Eating in the north feels like you’re travelling the world & I love the unpretentiousness of places like Coburg. I think it’d be a shame to visit Melbourne & never venture off the bright & shiny tourist trail.
Or at least if you do take the tourist route, try to find those hidden gems, whether it’s an amazing tour guide, that makes your day, an unforgettable dish or those less obvious details that you’d miss on your own.

That’s what I genuinely love to do & I do it with passion! What’s yours? 🙂

You’ve probably seen it, possibly tasted it, but what exactly is it? Made from dried thyme, sumac, sesame & salt, it’s one of the most aromatic, earthy, tangy and slightly nutty spice blends around. When it’s served on Middle-Eastern flatbread (manoush) it’s simply mouthwatering!

Our gorgeous Lebanese friends in Coburg make it fresh for us every tour and when our guests try it straight out of the oven, their ‘mmmmm’ sounds say it all!
