Applying for a Skilled Regional visa?

Get the facts:
📋 All Skilled Regional (subclass 887) visas are processed in the order of application, regardless of what State and Territory you live in.

🚚 Moving to a different State or Territory will not affect your application’s processing time. Your application will still be processed in the order it was received.

💡 Remember — while your Skilled Regional (subclass 887) visa application is being processed, all Skilled Regional (Provisional) (subclass 489) visa holders must continue to live, work and study in an eligible regional area, as specified in their visa conditions.

EMIRATES SUSPENDS FLIGHTS TO THREE AUSTRALIAN CAPITALS
Emirates has suspended its flight service to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane indefinitely leaving hundreds of Australians still desperate to get home stranded.
The last flight into Brisbane from Dubai will arrive today, while flights scheduled to arrive in Sydney and Melbourne will finish up on Tuesday.
Its flight from Dubai to Perth will continue twice a week.
Emirates has reportedly made the cuts for “operational reasons”, a decision which deals stranded Aussies yet another blow after National Cabinet agreed to cut international arrival caps into NSW, Queensland and WA by 50% until at least the middle of next month.
Affected customers are being told to contact the airline or their travel agent for rebooking options.

The Australian Government has announced changes to international student visa arrangements, including recommencing granting student visas lodged outside Australia. This means when Australia’s borders re-open, students will already have visas and be able to make arrangements to travel.

The changes also enable international students to lodge a further student visa application free of charge, if they are unable to complete their studies within their original visa validity due to COVID-19.

These visa changes will ensure international students are not worse off due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Applications extended to candidates residing in regional NSW

Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491)

NSW Treasury is extending applications to all eligible candidates who are currently residing in a designated regional area in NSW. Please see detailed information below.

Applications must be received by 5pm Friday, 26 June 2020.

We will endeavour to assess applications by the end of the financial year; Tuesday, 30 June 2020.


Who can apply?

Only candidates who meet all the requirements below are able to submit an application.

If you do not meet these requirements, we strongly urge you not to apply as your application will be declined.

The NSW nomination fee is not refundable.


Requirements

You can only apply for NSW nomination if you meet Department of Home Affairs’ requirements for this visa and:

1. have an occupation on the NSW Regional Skilled Occupation List, and;

2. are living in a designated regional area in NSW.

There is no minimum time-frame for how long you have been residing in regional NSW, however you must be able to demonstrate your place of residence through evidence.

If you do not meet all of these requirements, you are not able to apply for NSW nomination.
