We’re counting down the hours until the 2025 edition of the Giro d’Italia is officially released. While we’re not running a Giro tour in 2025, we’re sure it’s going to be another 3 weeks of great racing through the spectacular Italian landscape, and we can’t wait to be roadside for a few of the stages through Tuscany and the Alps & Dolomites.

This is the first open corner after 7kms of seriously hard pushing during La Fausto Coppi Gran Fondo in Piedmont. The landscape opens up and you can see up the valley to the top of the pass. The adrenaline fuelled descent is in reach.

Today we share our top moments, experiences and stories from Sicily in 2024. Riding across Sicily in Spring is sensational and this year, climbing Mt Etna from the south side was superb. At 26km long, it’s a serious challenge, especially the first couple of km’s on the lower slopes before we ‘level out’ to a 6.5% average gradient. Riding up and descending through the old lava fields that are devoid of vegetation, is like rolling through a landscape in another world. It’s the perfect culmination to our tour.

Sicily is a world of unexpected colour and beauty. An early morning walk along the deserted and narrow paved streets of Taormina was special, not only for the peace and calm of an early morning in this often busy town, but because of the surprise of this old Fiat 500, hand painted in the style of the old Sicilian horse drawn carts.

Tadej Pogacar. Remarkable yet again. We had the fortune of seeing him win in Siena two years ago and in 2024, he’s done it again, and with an even more impressive performance. For anyone who has climbed Colle Santa Maria with us at L’Eroica, you’ll know just how amazing his attack on this incredibly challenging climb was.
