What a Weekend of Birthday Magic! 🎉🦋

We had a whirlwind of birthday celebrations this weekend, bringing live butterflies, face painting, and fun crafts to some very lucky birthday kids!

Each party was filled with wide-eyed wonder as children stepped into our butterfly enclosure to hold and feed real butterflies. Face painting added extra sparkle, and the craft tables were buzzing with creativity as kids made their own butterfly masks, bookmarks, flipbooks, and feeders to take home.

Tomorrow 16th January we'll be at 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 with our Live Butterfly Gazebo and our Gardens for Butterflies program where you can make your own DIY butterfly feeder to take home. We have lots of information on gardening for butterflies available too.

𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞!! Drop in any time from 10:30am to 12:30pm. All ages and abilities welcome. Our gazebo is pram and wheelchair accessible.

Watch the caterpillars eat like no tomorrow and grow, up to 100 times their starting size!
Our kits include everything you need to grow your caterpillar big enough to change into chrysalis where they transform into gorgeous butterflies. There are 6 caterpillars in a kit and enough plant material for all.

Have you had one of our chrysalis kits before? Sometimes it can be quite hard to capture the exact moment your butterfly emerges! They don't always look like the beautiful and magical creatures they are when flying around 🐛🦋🦋 Ash Jennings did an excellent job of filming this butterfly emerging, gradually pumping fluid from it's abdomen into it's wings until they're full and strong enough to fly. Butterfly Adventures created the original Butterfly Chrysalis Kit that lets you hatch the butterfly from a chrysalis, make a wish and release it.

We supply schools and kindergartens with a caterpillar kit so that the students can participate in caterpillar feeding, watch them grow, turn into a pupa and into a butterfly. An amazing experience for kids and an excellent opportunity for the teachers to achive curriculum linked learning outcomes with complete lesson plans provided for every level of a primary school and for kinders. Finally, Butterfly Adventures can set up a Butterfly Enclosure at Fairs and Festivals (or a foyer of your school) where kids can come in and feed the butterflies under a supervision of a butterfly handler.
