Happy Wild Koala Day!!

Today we celebrate one of the cutest beings on earth, the Aussie Wild Koala. We always find these cute critters on our and while we may not always get this close to them, they are wild after all, its always amazing to see them in the wild...

Well folks, this is it for now 😔 Time to say goodbye to touring for the foreseeable future. Today is the last tour we will be running till, well, I don't know when.

Melbourne Small Group Tours will be back when this all blows over. I just can not wait to welcome visitors back from all over the world. The Great Ocean Road is waiting for you, and we will be here with a big, warm welcoming smile.

For now everyone, stay safe, stay healthy, be with your loved ones and remember, what is happening now is just a speed hump in life's journey, not a roadblock.

Why do I love what I do so much? I get to be there and help create life long memories for so many people around the world. I like to think that there will be people telling their grand kids about the amazing day they spent on The Great Ocean Road with a guy in a silly hat and glasses some 40 years from now!

AUSTRALIAN BUSHFIRES

In the last few days we have been contacted by several past guests regarding the devistating fires raging across Australia and our safety. Firstly we are absolutely safe and our beloved Great Ocean Road is under no direct threat from fire. All of us at Melbourne Small Group Tours sincerely thank you for your concern and kind words.

The scale of these fires is immense, a combined area similar to that of England has been burnt and the fires are still burning. We are only 1/3 of the way through summer, there is still a long long road ahead.

It is estimated that over half a BILLION animals have perised due to the fires and countless other injured and orphaned. We have an amazing group of dedicated volunteers right across the country who are struggling to care for and save many of our endangered species. They need our support.

Also our heroic fire fighters need support, most of which are VOLUNTEERS. Some have lost everything to fires while trying to save others peoples property and lives. They are exhausted and stretched to the limit.

We are asking you to join us in supporting these amazing organisations in any way you can. Just a few dollars can go a long way, lots of dollars go further.

About this time last year I was lucky to have an incredible young film maker on one of my tours. At the time I was luckily enough to be in one of his documentaries about his travels down under.

Luca Pittalis has just produced an incredible new sort film on climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and the impact of global warming on Africas highest peak. This has been made with the backing of none other than Sir David Attenborough.
