We are looking for a part time Stablehand during the week to support our amazing team members!

Ideally looking for someone to working during the day period , this position could be between school hours if you are a busy mum. Or a teen looking to build their skills and experience in their first job.

The successful applicant should have basic horse handling skill with previous experience (whether that’s owning your own horses or have been employed in the equine industry previously).

At the moment ideally we are looking for approx 3 hours on each of the following days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. (Approx 12hrs per week)

Job would involve bringing in horses, saddling/preparing for lessons. Mucking out and making feeds etc possibly more as your skills grow. This job is an all weather position so you’d need to be content working in the rain and heat.

Hours can be a bit flexible for the right fit (within reason). Great supportive team that prides itself in education and safety

Position is paid according to the Amusement and recreation award please feel free to look up rate of pay against your age. Everybody starts at introductory rate, award level may increase dependant on your level of expertise.

No horses under the autumn trees this year. Just our precious family without Hayley,Mia and Ruby.
Mathew and April have come down from Queensland to meet Bailey. Our hearts are full.

Lightenings first 3* wasn’t meant to be. Unfortunately we think he got a spook in the yard at Ballarat overnight and took the portable yards between the float and car at 3am this morning. Lighty came out with a few cuts on his front legs and is feeling sore but ok. He walked out ok this morning but is a bit sore.
Again, we have amazing people in our lives.
Huge thanks to our wonderful neighbours Helen Dillon and the girls and also our new friends from Diamond Creek on the other side of us. They jumped into helping Lighty and helping us pack up in the dark.
We really can’t thank these people enough!!☺️☺️
Lighty will see another event. The car is a mess and float will need a touch up.
Thanks for all the support people gave us on our journey to getting there.
If you’ve ever competed at the level you know the time effort and money to get there.
We couldn’t achieve how far we have come without amazing people in our lives!!
Good luck to everyone competing at Ballarat.
It’s a bit of an anti climax and Buck feels very sad and sorry for Lightning. Cas and Paul.

We would just like to thank Tonimbuk committee for running such a good event. Thanks to all the volunteers who were out in the heat to make an event go ahead.
On a real personal level we would love to thank the lady I think Sarah and also Pete (Ashas husband) who just took over helping us cool Lighting down at the finish. Doris and another lady were continuing hosing down horses. The horsey community is really great.
Thanks to Anthea at 32 weeks pregnant plaited him and spent time volunteering in the heat.

I've had a number of clients in Mildura ask when I will be returning

I am scheduled to return Monday 29th Jan however I will be travelling through to Broken Hill first. So depending on the numbers up there I will be in Mildura from Thursday 1st February in the afternoon (TBC).

Because of the heat I cannot treat horses over 35 degrees so if people can be a bit flexible that would be great!

If you would like an appointment on my next trip up please send a message and I'll write your name down. Once I get a rough idea of numbers I can start planning :)

How quick has this year gone and what a lot of highs and lows we’ve had?
The year started off with Paul getting broken ribs being knocked down by one of the youngsters. A totally unexpected fright.
The start of the year began with me doing as much as I could and driving Paul around. Thanks to the clients who were very patient.
We have 3 exciting horses to compete on. We made it to Melbourne 3de with EP Lightning and we were over the moon with the result.
We took the 3 to Spring horse trials and Shirley Heights and made a decision (after Lightnings anxiety levels got so high) to take one to each comp until the end of the year.
It was much calmer and they all behaved really well.
We got a new puppy in October called Prada. A lot of people have met her and she has certainly melted our hearts. We have never had a dog that looks remotely like her. She’s great.
Sadly our hearts were broken last weekend with Chino crossing that rainbow bridge. We are both devastated but knew the day would come but we could never prepare ourselves for the big hole left in our lives.
We want to thank all our clients for their support throughout 2023 and we wish you the safest and merriest Christmas. Paul and Cas
