On the way to Osaka we'll stop at impressive Himeji Castle, one of Japan’s most stunning and well-preserved fortresses. In Osaka, we’ll see the impressive Osaka Castle and with three nights plenty of time to indulge its delights with lively streets and famous culinary scene. We'll also visit nearby Nara which features iconic landmarks such as Todaiji Temple and its famous friendly roaming deer!

And here's some northern lights images from the last four evenings (we've had an INCREDIBLE SIX nights in a row of auroras now!)

Two nights in Husafell then one in the charming northern seaside fishing village of Siglufjörður and then last night here in Mývatn in central northern Iceland for our first of two nights here.

(I'm actually thankful for solid clouds tonight so I can FINALLY have an early night after six nights out photographing and watching auroras!)

Mother Nature truly is incredible!

Apart from northern lights the last five nights, days 5, 6 and 7 of my 14-day “Iceland and Auroras” trip have all been packed to the rafters with plenty of great sightseeing and spectacular scenery.

After a very windy start to the trip the Norse Gods have been kind giving us some spectacular weather (including stunning northern lights) for the last few days.

Húsafell up north to stunning and remote Siglufjörður (with stops at Reykholt, Deildartunguhver hot waters, Glaumbær historic turf house, Icelandic horse farm and Siglufjörður Herring Era Museum visits).

The following day Eastward to Lake Mývatn (with whale watching adventure, lunch stop in the “Capitol of the North” Akureyri and stop to see mighty Goðafoss, the “waterfall of the Gods”).

So great to have fun, master local driver “Steine” back looking after my group for 2024! 🇮🇸🚌👨🏼‍✈️🎸💪🙏

Take a look at this stunning footage of the spectacular Iguazu/Iguassu Falls that we visit whilst on our 2025, April/May, 25-day "Splendours of South America" adventure. Located on the Argentinian/Brazilian border of the Paraná River, these awe-inspiring falls span ~2.7km across and comprise around 275 individual falls with highest being the majestic and powerful Devil's Throat at 82m drop.
