💥Covermore travel insurance 💥
Regarding Air Vanuatu filled for insolvency on Monday 6 May 2024, as of yesterday, 9 May 2024, hundreds of people across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific have been left stranded after Air Vanuatu suddenly cancelled flights to and from Sydney; Brisbane and Auckland.
It’s reported that impacted passengers have not been offered alternative flights, however Air Vanuatu has said it is working with partner airlines to minimise disruption and will contact affected customers.
Some important points:
The Comprehensive Care policy has a benefit for Travel Services Provider Insolvency of up to $10,000.
The benefit is applied on a per person basis and will be shown on the customer’s Certificate of Insurance.
We will consider this as a known event from midday 6 May 2024 with news reports being posted from around 11:20am that day.
Even if a customer’s policy contains coverage for Insolvency, there will be no cover if the policy was purchased after the Insolvency was announced.
Customers with cover available are expected to minimise their claim as much as possible.
For customers who purchased their policy before the Insolvency, if they are unable to return home due to the event, they will have access to Free Extension of Insurance until they are able to travel home on the fastest and most direct route.
If the insured has cover for Insolvency, the following are costs not covered by their policy:
Costs that are incurred where your travel is not directly affected.
Where alternate travel is at a higher fare class than originally booked.
Travel arrangements that have already been used.
Costs excluded or above the limits outlined in the PDS.
