CLOSED FOR BUSINESS!
After much consternation I’ve made the decision to shut down The Yarra Valley Touring Company in light of the impending compulsory vaccine requirement in Victoria for tourism operators.
Under Victoria’s roadmap to recovery I am being told I will only be able to welcome guests who are fully vaccinated. I’ll have to screen all guests and reject anyone without the passport.
In all good conscience, I can’t do it.
I also won’t operate a business in breach of the health regulations so I’ve decided to shut down until the situation changes- if ever.
I think this segregation we are creating and the vitriol that is being directed at people on either side of the fence is really sad. But I understand it’s a very tricky situation and I’m glad I’m not the one who has to decide how to manage this situation!
I’m not asking for sympathy or support. I just have to draw the line where my conscience lies, and hey if it’s not on Facebook, did it really happen?
Let’s be patient and kind with each other and treat others with respect.

Many Yarra Valley businesses have been inundated with bookings for lunch and wine tastings and accommodation and Tours on Saturdays coming up to Christmas which is fantastic!
However, limited capacity due to restrictions means Saturday’s are getting booked out! We’d love to see people coming out to the valley mid week and staying for a few nights. That would really benefit our local tourism economy and you will avoid the crowds!
There is so much to see and do in the Yarra Valley! Incredible gourmet experiences, Natural wonders and wildlife, world-class attractions and golf courses. Stay for a few days and enjoy everything the valley has to offer.
