Yesterday I did a ceremony in Williamstown overlooking the sea. It was a commitment ceremony for a couple, two talented artists who met at art school many years ago. It was a true celebration of the couple's love for each other and their amazing young daughter. Although Celeste, one half of the couple, wasn't present as planned, she was listening to the event from her hospice bed (after a long battle, her body was finally succumbing to cancer). In the early hours this morning, beautiful Celeste passed away, with her loving partner and daughter by her side. As a celebrant, there are times you feel particularly honoured as you carry out your role. Yesterday's commitment ceremony (it wasn't a wake, but a joyous celebration of love) is right up there as one of those times. My thoughts go out to Celeste's partner, their daughter and other loved ones. May they draw strength from Celeste's boundless love and incredible courage, now and always.

Today I officiated Renae and Jamie's special wedding ceremony, held at a relative's property at Flinders, Victoria. Such a lovely chilled vibe and congrats to the beautiful couple! Later I enjoyed the local sights (pictured is Flinders Pier). :)

Euroa Butter Factory was a wonderfully rustic venue for Sophia and Chris' wedding that I officiated today. Perfect!...As a thoughtful gesture, the couple shouted me dinner tonight at their favourite restaurant in town, Northern Republic (third pic here). Highly recommend! :)

Today I arrived at this beautiful town, Euroa, Victoria, to officiate a wedding for a couple I met when they were in film school (was cast in their short film, Tender Comrade). All these years later they've finally got hitched. :) So pleased they kept me in mind as their celebrant (love it when my acting and celebrant worlds collide). Congratulations on your wedding, Sophia and Chris! It was a romantic ceremony with a difference; some artsy fun involving a surprise guest!

I've just conducted a funeral service in Seddon, Victoria. Sadly, an artist's beautiful wife passed away unexpectedly and way too soon. Such an honour and privilege to be involved in my role as celebrant; rewarding and humbling too. I'd like to think I gave her the farewell she certainly deserved.

Proud to have officiated today the wedding of two amazing women, Kittie and Steph, at Pioneer Women's Memorial Garden, near Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne. Such a romantic and idealic setting! The ceremony itself, always a team effort with the wording and content, paid tribute to all same-sex couples who deserve love and happiness like anyone else. Love is love! :)
