It's the end of an era! It has been an absolute blast teaching all these wonderful children. Thank you for SO MUCH fun!!

Group B did a fantastic "open rehearsal" of the Mrs T show. So completely and utterly proud of them. Sadly we only got photos of half of the show - as it was chaos!😅

Loads of wild fun. Great work one and all - Group A and Group B⭐️🌟✨⚡️⭐️

Floating in a plastic ocean!

This week Group A continued filming for their super hero film trailer "The Wild Five: Superheroes in Training". 👊

Group B are doing beautiful, nuanced work on their production of 'Mrs Ticklebottom and the Plastic Problem". 🌂

We would like to show Group B's work on Wed 18th Dec at 5.30pm. Whether it be the fully realised show or an open or "general rehearsal"!

Group A's trailer - the kids and I can watch it together in class when we finish it and then send it out to you all.

Shout out with any questions. :)

Vive la révolution! 😂 Look at these young actors, acting their hearts out. A huge congrats to Group A for a fabulous little scene today. You aced it.

Group B got the chance to unwind after a term of complex rehearsals with fun games including 'Helping Hands' which sometimes looked so real!

Have a great break all and hope to see you in Term 4. Details coming soon. 😊

Group B understanding how their set works with a little model. Rehearsals for Mrs Ticklebottom are going well!

Group A are a funny bunch of comedians and their scene 'We Hate Brussel Sprouts' is very cute. Working with them on focused delivery and working together.

A table read for Group B yesterday. I'm passing on the baton of the 'Mrs Ticklebottom and the Plastic Problem' show to the kids - dividing the characters up into separate roles rather than one person playing all of them. They did a wonderful read through! It was funny and sad and they brought Mrs T and all the animals to life beautifully. Can't wait to start rehearsing!

We had tried to devise a play around the theme of an escape room - but will let that percolate for now.

Group A worked well on their protest scene 'I Hate Brussel Sprouts!'. Apologies to any Brussel Sprout fans out there - we had to pick something and figured that it was better to poke fun at these loved or loathed little vegetables rather than Broccoli - which was in the original script (written by Janet B Milstein). 🥦🥦🥦

The joy of sharing and performing

I have been teaching drama to children for around twelve years, here in Australia and in the UK. Children have such an amazing ability to imagine, create and believe. Nothing is more fun than exploring that with them through drama games, improvisation and simple text work. I have happily watched children transform over the process and build their confidence time and time again. Everyone needs a space to be free and express themselves and I feel lucky to be able to provide a safe space in my classes. My motto is “fear it - do it anyway”. Once children get past the fear of putting themselves forward and get a taste of the joy of sharing and performing - wonderful things happen! :)
