Fab Nobs Theatre Inc is a not-for profit organisation, located in Melbourne's outer-east. Everyone is welcome.

Fab Nobs formed in 2003 and staged its first production, "A Slice of Saturday Night" in a converted factory on Burgess Road, Bayswater. In 2008 Fab Nobs changed location to 33 Industry Place, Bayswater, where they transformed “the factory” into a theatrical space ideal for diverse productions. The cabaret like atmosphere provides the perfect setting to stage unique concerts and productions that ra

nge from the classics: Little Shop of Horrors, A Little Night Music and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, to the contemporary: Next to Normal, The Drowsy Chaperone and Avenue Q, as well as the quirky Zombie Prom, Return to the Forbidden Planet and tick, tick, BOOM - just to name a few! Fab Nobs is dedicated to involving all members of the community, whether it is to be on the stage or behind the scenes. Fab Nobs are also devoted to giving back to the community, having made donations to many charities. Students have also had the opportunity to experience the ‘theatre world’ through a ‘Work Experience’ program, which has been highly regarded within the community. We look forward to seeing you in the foyer at our next show!

Captain Nemo closed on Sunday to a sold out crowd! We were so lucky to have an 'all ages' cast - from 8-23 yrs share such a memorable experience over the past three months. The positive responses from audiences and cast families has been overwhelming. Thank you everyone who came along and joined in with our action song - 'Ay Ay Captain Nemo' and for laughing, clapping and joining in with all the hilarity and on stage adventures! It was also wonderful to see theatre performers bring their gorgeous children along as their first experience of live theatre!

Thank you to everyone who was a part of this show, from our creative team, to our set builders, our sound and lighting teams, our stage hands, our band, our committee, and so many more. Shows like this are a true labour of love, and we are always so blessed to have so many amazing people helping put together shows at our company. And a very special thank you to our incredible cast for their hard work in putting together this fabulous show.

Thank you to all who helped Captain Nemo solve the tale of a 'mystery, Mystery!"

Have you ever wanted to be involved behind the scenes on a Fab Nobs production? Well now is your chance! Production team expressions of interest for our final 2025 show: We are the Tigers, close next week! We encourage applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds and experience levels to apply. Individual and group applicants welcome. We look forward to hearing from you!

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the roles of:
Director
Musical Director
Choreographer
Assistants
Stage Manager
Costume Designer/Coordinator

If you are interested, please send an expression of interest including a CV to [email protected]. At this point we do not expect a full pitch to be sent through but a brief explanation of your interest in the show is encouraged. Directors are also encouraged to include a brief vision for the show in the Fab Nobs space.

Expressions of interest will close January 21st after which interviews will be organised, to take place late January or early February.

There is a small honorarium available for director, musical director and choreographer roles.

Please note not all of these roles may be appointed from these expressions of interest, and applicants are welcome to apply for multiple roles as well.

Come beat the heat this weekend at Captain Nemo and the Quest for Atlantis at Fab Nobs! This super fun show for the whole family opens TOMORROW and our cast and team have been hard at work preparing a wonderful performance for you all and we cannot wait for you to see it!

As a special activity for this show, the fabulous Bianca from Wonderspark Parties will be doing facepainting for $5 before the show! If your little one (or not so little one!) would like their facepainted, we will be starting this activity from 45 minutes pre show, so arrive early if you would like to get some beautiful face paint perfect for the show!

Introducing The Pirates, lead by Raph Hjorth as Davy Jones!

Legend says he’s a ghost, but this panto is certain he’s just a poor misunderstood magical sea-dweller who loves barnacles - and ballet! He and his Undersea Pirate crew may look a little fierce at first, but actually they’re all just big old softies who come swimming to the rescue any time they’re needed and would give the maps out of their lockers to any new friend.

October 2025 Show Announcement

Continuing a big week of announcements, our final Fab Nobs show of 2025 will be… We Are the Tigers! Book, Music and Lyrics by Preston Max Allen ❤️‍🔥 The Tigers’ high school cheerleading squad is meeting for their annual sleepover at captain Riley’s house—and they’ve brought plenty of their teenage troubles with them. Love triangles, a lustful boyfriend, and hurt feelings over a now-viral cheer stunt gone wrong complicate their team-bonding activities. But so does the untimely death of one of their own in the front yard. Will that be the only murder? And who did it? A new musical featuring a cast of 10, a modern belty score, and a darkly comic story; this show is absolutely perfect for Fab Nobs. We will be searching for a production team for this fabulous show in the new year, so watch this space if you are interested in being involved.
