All our properties are under 2.5 hours from Melbourne - where nature is at its best and where city culture meets country time. Each house is fitted out to feature its own individual character and all are completely self-contained. If it’s bunkering-down time you need, then there’s no need to leave. Houses are available for a last minute cheeky weekend getaway or a lusciously planned week-long treat… disguised as that desperately needed break from the daily routines. You just have to think about what you throw in your Duffle Bag to be as spontaneous, curious, adventurous or as lazy and peaceful as you need so as to enjoy a memorable and unique getaway.

Norman Beach is no exception with its shallow and gently lapping water, great for most swimmers.

This beach is fringed by Tidal River and is a great place to launch the kayak for a paddle, take a walk along the tea tree stained water or enjoy some boulder hopping. It’s also the starting point of the Tidal River to Squeaky Beach Walk.- ✍️ by

Forrest, in the Otway Ranges, is a true mountain biking mecca, offering over 60km of world-class, ride-in, ride-out trails straight from the Loft.

Bootmakers Cottage : Birregurra.

Named in honour of Mr James Townsend, who built the cottage and adjoining stables - workshop in 1864. He was a long standing prominent figure in town - a bookmaker, saddler and horseman. Today Bootmakers Cottage is prominent in its own right. With its charming facade taking pride of place in Birregurra Main Street.

Located at the foothills of The Otways Ranges. Birregurra is a classic historic town.

“The brief from my wife was simple—find a peaceful, private getaway with a little green therapy. Mission accomplished! This cabin was exactly what we needed.
Surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of birds, it was the perfect spot for a true digital detox. The cabin itself is rustic yet cozy, with a great mix of charm and comfort. We spent most mornings on the deck, enjoying coffee and the quiet.
What surprised us was how secluded it felt, yet we were only a short walk from the Forrest General Store for a tasty lunch. The friendly staff added to the charm.

Otways Loft is a whimsical marvel of imagination and craftsmanship. Three stories of vintage train carriage parts and mountain ash logs come together to create a treehouse-like cabin so charmingly unique, it might just inspire a wry smile.

The gilded letters weren’t just functional—they were a statement of luxury and sophistication.

I absolutely love this 1920s photo (Photo 6- Newport Victoria) showing the carriages being constructed.

It’s incredible to think which one our gal might be among them ?

And to wonder—who was the artisan who meticulously applied the lettering by hand, crafting a piece of history that’s still admired today?

Built in 1928 at the Newport Railway Workshop in Melbourne as First Class Carriages 61 AW . Later converted several times between first and second class.

While the studio is attached to the owner’s house, it remains entirely private, with its own small yard and separate entrance. The space is for your exclusive use during your stay, and we will not enter or have access to the studio, ensuring you have complete privacy.

Are you our next House Manager?

Do you love creating beautiful spaces? We are looking for somebody very special to join our close-knit team, to look after our three, boutique hosted homes in Walkerville & Cape Liptrap.

Our dream person is local to the area, has meticulous attention to detail, an eye for styling and has a passion for creating a welcoming arrival for each of our guests.

We have built a portfolio of warm & charming homes, each with their own unique character.

We will teach you everything you need to know to set our homes up to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests.

The House Manager role will be to clean and stage the house and property each turnover. When they are unavailable, to organise backup cleaners to manage the turnover. We currently have trained backup cleaners, but the House Manager role will include training new backup cleaners.

*If you are interested in joining our team of backup cleaners we also have some openings.

Working hours are between 10am and 3pm on tight turnover days. When properties are empty the House Manager can operate when they like. The role will have a maximum of 24 hours per week but usually about 12-16 hours per week.

Ensuring that everything is perfectly arranged for each arrival and to maintain our homes to the luxurious standard we are renowned for.

Extra income also from ordering or laundering linen. Keeping properties well stocked with supplies.

The par 73 course offers a challenging layout set amidst lush fairways and stunning bushland, with Eastern Grey Kangaroos roaming the fairways. adding to the unique charm of the place.

Designed by Vern Morcom in 1953, the course has evolved over the years but remains a true testament to its original design.
