Founded in 1913, the Castlemaine Art Museum holds a unique collection of Australian art, First Nations cultural material and historical artefacts reflecting the early history of the region. To support their broader vision in becoming Australia's leading regional art museum, Buckford Illumination Group supplied the ERCO New Optec to replace their previous outdated system. The New Optec delivers an impressive quality of light, revitalising the museum by improving the display and conservation of artworks, reducing energy use, and increasing environmental sustainability.

A huge thank you to our guest panelists: Boiminh Ho (WSP), Natalia Pabon (Arup), Nellie Whiteside (Aurecon), and Milena Starikov (Robson Rak), for taking the time out of their busy schedules to speak at our event. Your openness, honesty, and willingness to share sparked meaningful conversations and insightful questions from our audience, making the event impactful for everyone involved.

What a thrill it was to watch yesterday's Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix to see Signify shining on the night-circuit, ensuring the fastest show on earth is perfectly lit.

Signify's Philips Lighting ArenaVision Gen3.5 floodlights, installed above the track, are designed to replicate the conditions of natural daylight. Their exceptional quality and uniformity give drivers a clear view of the track, without needing to wait for their eyes adapt to change in brightness—critical for when they're driving at such high speeds.

For those tuning in from home (like us), the ArenaVision meets the latest broadcasting standards regarding glare and visible flicker. This ensures every moment is captured perfectly against the iconic Las Vegas skyline, delivering an unforgettable viewing for Formula 1 fans worldwide.

At Buckford, we're proud to distribute Signify’s innovative lighting solutions, including the ArenaVision, which we've supplied to multiple Melbourne stadiums to elevate the experience for spectators and players alike.

With all the hours spent perfecting the lighting in a gallery, it's essential to keep sight of the main goal: how will the audience interact with the exhibition? Seeing an audience engaged, intrigued, and inspired is undoubtedly the most satisfying outcome for the team at Geelong Gallery.

Since the installation of the ERCO track system and Eclipse luminaires with interchangeable darklight lenses, supplied by Buckford in 2021, every new exhibition can be presented to perfection—one spotlight system, 28,000 possibilities. This flexibility is showcased in their latest exhibition, Cutting Through Time: Cressida Campbell, Margaret Preston, and the Japanese Print. The variety of lenses effectively illuminates the diverse approaches to painted woodblock and printmaking, inspired by the Japanese ukiyo-e tradition.

International passengers are now greeted with a vibrant new arrivals forecourt at Sydney Airport.

The redevelopment of the T1 international terminal forecourt, which officially opened in July 2023, is part of Sydney Airport’s 2039 Masterplan, focused on delivering a better experience for travellers.

We're proud to share that Buckford Illumination Group NSW played a role in this transformation by supplying WE-EF LIGHTING VLS420 luminaires. The wall mounted fittings seamlessly blend into the architectural elements of the awnings, making the housing nearly invisible. The use of direct and indirect lighting enhances the forecourt roofing without emitting glare, providing improved wayfinding and safety for visitors and those returning home.

We're also thrilled that this project has won the Landscape Architecture Award for Infrastructure at the AILA NSW awards. Congratulations to Hassell and all the teams involved!

Marking two years since the completion of Bell and Preston stations and the removal of numerous dangerous level crossings in Melbourne's North.

Buckford Illumination Group supplied a range of luminaires across the development, illuminating shared walking and cycling paths, public open spaces, car parks, platforms and concourse areas—enhancing safety and the user experience.

Prior to the upgrade, around 82,000 vehicles passed through these former level crossings each day, with boom gates down for up to 40% of the morning peak. We are proud to have contributed to a significant project that not only reduced traffic congestion but also improved community engagement with the space!
