les we operate whale watching cruises out of Darling Harbour Sydney. And then for the Southern Migration from August to November we run daily cruises from Merimbula and Bermagui on the NSW South Coast. The Southern Migration is our favourite time of the year as so many whales pass close to the shore and the whale watching is sensational! Outside of the whale season we operate 3hr Reef Fishing Charters & 2hr Ocean Wildlife Adventures from Merimbula. These tours are a wonderful way to see the spectacular Sapphire Coast from the water and regularly sight a variety of marine life (Seals, Dolphins, Whales, Seabirds). Today we found dolphins on all four of our cruises:
Passengers onboard Disney Wonder enjoyed both Bottlenose and common Dolphins in Twofold Bay Eden.
We also found dolphins on our third trip from Eden down near Mowaree.
We found a small pod of Bottlenose dolphins and seals off Haycock on our Merimbula Wildlife Cruise.

This morning we welcomed guests from cruise ship Crown Princess onboard Bubbles and showed them the beautiful bottlenose dolphins of Twofold Bay. We then found another pod of dolphins and lots of seals on our second Eden Wildlife Cruise - Rodger was a very happy dog 🐬🐕💙

We found a playful pod of Bottlenose dolphins on our morning Merimbula Wildlife Cruise over near Haycock. Then on our afternoon tour we found seals and two hammerhead sharks that stayed on the surface giving us all some fantastic viewing 🐬🦅🦈🦭💙

Today we found two pods of Bottlenose dolphins in Twofold Bay on our Eden Wildlife Cruise. We also sighted our local White Bellied Sea Eagle and a variety of seabirds. We watched a couple of retiring Sydney to Hobart yachts sailing into Twofold Bay. One that had been de-masted ☹️

Today we had tours from both Merimbula and Eden.
On our Merimbula Wildlife Cruise we found a playful pod of Bottlenose dolphins out from Pambula Beach. We also sighted several seals and our local sea eagle during the tour.

We enjoyed taking two groups of passengers from cruise ship Silver Muse around Twofold Bay today. With winds from the South we headed over to the southern side of the bay and enjoyed Edrom Lodge, dolphins in Honeysuckle Bay and Ben Boyd’s Tower. We also found a couple of Sea Eagles and other seabirds.

After a short break it was great to be back out on the water today. The day was a gorgeous, sunny one in Eden. Bubbles took a most enjoyable cruise around Twofold Bay, finding seals and seabirds, then our local Bottlenose Dolphins came over to play. It is always so much fun to watch them as they race over to the boat and swim at the bow of Bubbles 🐬💙

A gorgeous summers day on Twofold Bay today 🌞 Ocean conditions were calm and it was very balmy and warm. We found the white tail sea eagles inside South Head. Then spotted a square tailed kite trying to to steal a fish from a cormorant 😮 We also found a few seals who were keeping cool in the water. Today we headed north to Leonard’s Island and the Pinnacles and the coastline was simply stunning 💙

This morning we found a dolphin near the Aslings Beach Rock Pool. This single bottlenose dolphin swam along with us for quite a while. We then saw several white bellied sea eagles. We were super lucky to see one swoop down and capture a fish 🦅🐠😊 We travelled up to Leonard’s Island where we found a few seals and a shark 🦈 💙 On our home journey back inside Twofold Bay we spotted a couple of Little 🐧 Penguins. It was great to see such a variety of wildlife on our 2hr Eden Wildlife Cruise today 😊

Today was a beautiful day on Twofold Bay, Eden. Sunny conditions and calm seas 💙 Roger was very happy as we found a lovely pod of Bottlenose dolphins on both tours. In the morning on our 2hr Eden Wildlife Cruise we found the dolphins on the southern end of Aslings Beach, we also found the regal White Bellied Sea Eagle near North Head. Then in the afternoon whilst taking a bus group around Twofold Bay we found this same pod of dolphins in Honeysuckle Bay. One of the joys of what we do is watching the faces of people when they see the dolphins swimming at the bow of Bubbles or jumping out of the water. Dolphins make us smile and bring us joy. For one lovely lady this afternoon they helped her overcome her fear of the ocean 🐬💙🐬💙

Today we were back out on the water. We have switched over to our summer schedule and are offering our 2hr Wildlife Adventures. This morning we were out from Merimbula and headed south from Long Point down towards the Pinnacles. It was a very humid and hazy day at sea. We found several Australian Fur Seals and a variety of seabirds.

Today we gathered to celebrate this past whale watching season. So many amazing whale encounters and so many wonderful memories. We are truly thankful to our fantastic team of crew, volunteers, photographers and whale spotters. Your generosity in sharing your time, passion and talents with us is 💯 appreciated. We could not do what we do without you! You are an inspirational group of people and it has been an absolute pleasure to share this past whale watching season with you. Enjoy the summer and we will look forward to doing it all again in 2025 🐋💙

Well that's a wrap!
Our 2024 whale watching season has finished and thankfully we found whales on all our Eden, Merimbula and Bermagui tours this southern migration. Today both boats watched two whales off the Pinnacles.
It has been an incredible season and we would like to extend a very special thank you to our passionate and dedicated crew, our fabulous team of talented whale photographers and of course to all our wonderful guests who have joined us this season. Even after twenty whale watching seasons we never tire of sharing the joy of whale watching with those who come onboard. It has been wonderful to see the number of whales increasing each season and each season our understanding and appreciation of these incredible animals deepens. It is always a little sad to see the season come to a close - however we wish our whale friends a very safe summer down in Antarctica, may they feast safely upon large schools of krill and put on lots of weight so that they can make their annual migration next year🙏 We will look forward to welcoming them back to our waters next May when we will again offer whale watching tours for the northern and southern migrations.

What a Day! It might be getting towards the end of the season but today was certainly action packed. On our Merimbula trip we found breaching whales off Haycock and headed south with them past the Pinnacles. We also sighted two other pods of breaching whales. We were super grateful to see some fantastic airborne acrobatics. Then on our way home we found another four whales on the southern side of Haycock playing with a large pod of bottlenose dolphins 🐬🐋🐋🐋🐋🐬
Lots of smiles all around 😀

This morning off Eden we headed south and found two pods of whales off Mowaree Point who breached and played for the entire trip. Such a fantastic morning of whale watching, with a beautiful background. Happy Days 😍

This morning from Eden we found two pods in Twofold Bay we then headed north to Leonards Island and found a pod of three. This trio showed us some fantastic breaching action - we even managed to see a double breach 🐋🐋 The bus group on our afternoon tour were also lucky to see this pod three and some dolphins.

On our Merimbula tour we headed south to find a lovely pair of humpback whales off Quondola and followed them down to Leonards Island. This pair were very relaxed and cruising slowly southwards. We watched in amazement as they played with seaweed on several occasions. It is always incredible to observe the playful nature of these incredible mammals.

Merimbula Marina is a small family owned business. Our passion is whale watching and for 8 months of the year this is what we do. May to August during the Northern Migration of the wonderful humpback whales we operate cruises out of Darling Harbour Sydney. And then for the Southern Migration from September to November we run daily cruises from Merimbula on the NSW South Coast. The Southern Migration from Merimbula is our favourite time of the year as so many whales pass close to the shore and the whale watching is sensational! Outside of the whale season we operate a 2hr Coastal Discovery Cruise with BBQ lunch, December to May. These cruises are a wonderful way to see the spectacular Sapphire Coast from the water and regularly sight Dolphins and a variety of marine life. We also operate fishing charters December to May from Merimbula. During these months have daily 4hr Reef Fishing Charters.
