NEW: WHARF TO WHARF WALK - OPENING 26th JUNE 2021!

The all new Wharf to Wharf Walk starts and finishes at two of Australia’s most historic wharfs, Merimbula and Tathra, and links existing trails reserves, beaches and Bournda National Park, providing a connected 27km walking experience along our stunning coastline.
To celebrate the opening of the official Wharf to Wharf Walk on Saturday 26th June, enjoy free entry to the Tathra Wharf Museum all weekend (10am-3pm) and discover the fascinating maritime history of the building and the town.
The family fun extends outside too, with a treasure hunt on the stunning Tathra Headland from 11am, courtesy of Bournda Environmental Education Centre and a visit from NPWS Junior Discovery Rangers who will be onsite at Tathra Headland from 11-2 on Saturday with games, quizzes, mask making, hands on activities and more. We’ve been getting quite a few enquiries about the air and water conditions so here’s a little status update as of lunchtime 13th January. We can see some smoke haze in the distance as back burning operations are still in progress but there is no smell of smoke and a sea breeze. When the breeze dies down it can be a bit smokey especially in the morning and evenings and certainly if you suffer from serious respiratory problems or asthma it might be a good idea to wait another week before visiting - we do have a few days of showers 💦and maybe even some rain (!) coming up 🤞which will take care of things. Water quality is very good with some ash in sheltered bay areas which you can see in this pic of beautiful Bar Beach. Otherwise we are looking good and enjoying summer again! Feel free to message us if you have any concerns 👍

Seachange Apartments is currently closed due to extreme weather conditions expected to hit our area this weekend.

Merimbula is currently not under immediate fire threat but, we are still operating under a Tourist evacuation order which will assist local resources to be reserved for those that really need it.

We would like to take this time to offer a heartfelt thanks to everyone up and down the South coast (and beyond) who has supported efforts to protect our beautiful regions. We are especially grateful to those of you who are volunteers or anyone who has just pitched in to lend a hand where they could, you are all AMAZING and from the bottom of our hearts we thank you!

To all our lovely customers, we appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult time and we look forward to welcoming you back as soon as its safe to do so.
