The Metung Business & Tourism Association are excited to announce that FIRE & ICE @ METUNG is back for 2023 as part of the East Gippsland Winter Festival.

Join locals and visitors on Saturday 10th June on the long weekend and gather on the Metung Village Green by Bancroft Bay to enjoy spectacular fire & ice entertainment, live music, food & a lakeside lantern parade. From mid afternoon watch the amazing live ice carving performance by Glenn Smith of Down Under Ice Designs, then come sunset Wacky Wombat Entertainment brings the fire to the ice with a jaw-dropping fire breathing & juggling show! Enjoy live music and warm your belly with some incredibly tasty culinary delights on offer throughout Metung Village. Bring your own lanterns or purchase one handcrafted by local school children and take part in the enchanting lakeside lantern parade.

I know we’re always “super excited” but this one is next level excited. Experience the magic of a special show created especially for the East Gippsland Winter Festival, written by Buchan local musicians Raven & the Dove (Cindy Lee & David Swift) and performed amongst the natural ambiance and acoustics of the Blackwood Chamber inside the famous Buchan Caves.

Descend a staircase and enter a limestone landscape that leads to a majestic chamber within the Fairy Cave. An ancient auditorium for a special 30 minute performance of music, story, light and soundscape inspired by the Midsummer Night’s Dream of the Moon Family with echoes of the clandestine wedding of Fairy Moon.

Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June
Performances at 11:00am, 12:15pm, 1:30pm and 2:45pm both days.
Bookings essential.

Wow, what a night! Fundraising event at was a huge success! We were thrilled to meet so many lovely people and enjoy some delicious food by . And of course, the wine from and was exceptional. The gardens at Rivendale were simply breathtaking, making it the perfect venue for any special occasion, especially a wedding. This was just the beginning of the upcoming winter festival, which will be taking place in many towns throughout East Gippsland for an entire month starting in June. Stay tuned for all the exciting updates on the schedule of events we'll be sharing over the next few weeks. You won't want to miss out on all the fun!"
