The GRB team are watching a very exciting finish to the Coupe Aeronautique Gordon Bennett 2024 gas balloon race in Europe. The balloon teams have been flying into their 3rd day and have around 100km to fly to the Atlantic coast of Portugal. Since launching in Munster, Germany they have flown 2,000km. It was great to have balloon manufacturer Peter Kubicek stop by in north east Victoria recently. Goldrush scored a flight in the Kubicek demonstrator balloon that has a basket with a door. Peter works with his team of 140 technicians producing balloons in Brno, Czech Republic and was in Australia for 2 weeks.

Easter is not far away folks and the North East Region will be turning it on as we always do!!! There’s so much to see and do here, especially if you’re the “outdoorsy” type.

Get lost in one of our iconic mazes. Go on an adventure in an underwater cave. Explore our outdoor sculpture trail around the wetlands. Go hunting for the ever illusive Fog Bow in the morning and see a spectacular High Country Sunset in the evening. Jump on a bike and explore our fantastic network of bike trails or even mountain bike parks for the more adventurous thrill seekers… and that’s not even 1/2 of what you can get up to!

Don’t worry if you’re not that way inclined though, there’s plenty of slower more leisurely activities to enjoy too, but that’s for our next post, we can’t share all our secrets in one go! 🤫😁

And of course… you can always come fly with us!
