✨ Meet the Maker ✨

Fifteen years ago, Mildura Farms had a kernel of an idea to fill people’s pantries with high quality local and Australian dried fruits and nuts. It all started with a 400-acre mixed horticulture property located in Nangiloc, situated about a 50km drive south-east of Mildura.

After all these years, the business has ripened and become an ingrained part of our region’s local produce community.

Managed by Hayley Le, Mildura Farms are nuts about supporting our local growers, working closely with them by purchasing crops of raw produce. These include almonds, walnuts, pecans, figs, sultanas, apricots, peaches and nectarines.

From farm to shelf, Hayley and the team oversee the processing and bulk packing, then hand packs the produce for retail sale. They are committed to providing high quality and fresh local products.

Whether you're a chef looking for add a bit of crunch to a dish, a health-conscious individual who’s looking for a snack, or simply a foodie who loves supporting local, Mildura Farms has something for everyone to enjoy – you walnut be disappointed.

A special place ✨

Situated on the land of the Barkindji people, Lake Victoria is one of our region's most important cultural heritage sites. When the lake was drained 30 years ago, some remarkable discoveries were found - middens, scar trees and ancient burial sites. The area in fact has one of the densest findings of Aboriginal culture in Australia. Today, it remains one of the largest water storages in the Murray-Darling Basin.

Visitors are welcome to this sacred place. There are camping and fishing areas on the Rufus and Murray Rivers, as well as a viewing point for visitors which overlooks this magnificent lake. Lake Victoria is located approximately 100km from Mildura, via Rufus River Road.

✨ Meet the Maker ✨

Hayshed Potter was created by local potter and teacher Jayne Bawden. Jayne’s love and enduring fascination with all thing’s pottery began when she was a student at the Mildura Technical school. She went onto studying a diploma of fine arts and ceramics at the University of Ballarat.

She began sharing her love and knowledge of pottery. Starting out as a teacher at MADEC Australia, Jayne has since opened a beautiful local gallery space and studio, Hayshed Potter, during Covid. Unfortunately, the floods of 2022 saw Jayne’s property, home, studio, and gallery inundated with water. With the amazing assistance of the Mildura Pottery Club, Jayne was able to save all her equipment, and refurbish her studio and gallery.

The studio is focussed on developing the skill levels of all students, from beginners to the more advanced. Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned ceramicist, we’d recommend tapping into your creative side and attending one of her classes. Unwind, and experience the art of making!

Made to last a lifetime, Hayshed Potter’s products are crafted with a strong focus on quality and creativity. Designed to be both stylish, functional, and perfect for any style, you’ll find a wide range of mugs, plates, bowls and more.

Come and visit the studio at 48 Etiwanda Avenue on Saturdays between 10am-2pm.
