Across SA and seen moving in the Yorkes and Pirie regions too.

Advice from the Southern Koala and Echidna Rescue ………..

“‼️URGENT ‼️Our spiky friends 🦔 are on the move. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT 🙅‍♀️ under any circumstances relocate them!

There have been multiple reports this week about attempts to relocate echidnas 🚘 and healthy echidnas being picked up and dropped into vet clinics 🏥.

Echidnas are on the move as it is breeding season 😍 and the females are also preparing to put their puggles 👶 into nursery burrows. Moving an echidna can literally be a death sentence for their baby 👼.

If you have any concerns, please call the 24-hour hotline (Southern Koala and Echidna Rescue) for advice on ☎️ 0435 056 252.”

STICK TO THE PATHS
Council is reminding visitors and locals to stick to designated paths to help protect coastal sand dunes during Easter and the school holidays.
Yorke Peninsula’s dunes contain sites of significance to Narungga people, including significant Aboriginal heritage sites which are protected under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1988.
