Dreaming of those winter weeks when we get to paddle through paradise every day! June to October is when the weather is fine in North Queensland and the wind blows on our tails; making our 6 day 100km wilderness journey a breeze.

It's a simple rhythm once we disconnect from the outside world. We paddle to a remote beach destination in the afternoon, explore hikes and waterfalls, setup camp, enjoy a delicious gourmet meal, rest then wake up and hit the water to do it all again. We paddle past sea cliffs, reefs, mountains, beaches turtles, other sea life and birds; never knowing exactly what each surprises each day will hold!

Trips depart every Sunday from Mission Beach through the 'winter' months and return on Fridays. A few trips are already booked out, so now is an excellent time to reserve your spot if you'd like a some sunny paddling this year 🌞🏝😎

Floating around in front of Mount Bowen, 1121m.
The tallest peak on Hinchinbrook Island rises abruptly out of the ocean with rainforest clad slopes and precarious peaks. Mount Bowen creates an incredibly spectacular backdrop as we spend days kayaking and camping northwards along the length of Hinchinbrook Island.

We went for an opportunistic out the front of on our last Hinchinbrook Trip of the season. With conditions so glassy and perfect it would have been rude not to!

Winding up this year's PNG season, and were inspired and motivated to continue creating incredible routes out here. The caring hospitality of the local people, combined with a shared love of canoeing make us want to keep coming back. Thankyou to all the new and old friends that have helped us run these amazing trips on the Louisiades Archipelago, Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea.

Last week we took a watertank in to Mrs Sarto and her family on Ito Island! We were all stoked as this is something they have been needing for many years ❤️

Our vision for our PNG operations is one of partnership and mutual benefit with local communities. There are many ways we put this into practice as we transit the islands, from school and medical supplies, to small or big things which can improve quality of life. We're constantly thinking about the impacts of these trips, and if there aren't positives for everyone involved (guests, locals and staff) then for us there would be no reason to continue.
Here's to many more trips, and good times shared and amazing connections 😄

Amazing work by the Pasana group, so glad we get to visit Sanakoli and the team in their village of Lumolumo on our Louisiades paddle. It's an incredible project to connect young people of PNG and revive traditional canoe culture!
