Local business Shout Out! Thanks Ben from Moruya Veterinary Hospital for his prompt and extremely informative treatment of Sades little calf Victorious. Luckily, we had already separated her from the older calf. A quick turn around meant the older one was getting more of a lookin. Victorious was ‘scouring’ and very weak from dehydration, they can go down fast. Been years and years since intervention has been required. Ben gave me a refresher course in tubing electrolytes, something that always
makes me nervous as you don’t want the tube down the wrong pipe! So tubing and helping the calf feed back off mum, looks like she’s turned the corner. Certainly helped that Sade so ‘tame’ with me having to fossick at her tests nearly every three four hours. The hot weather certainly hasn’t helped! Keep strong little Victorious and thanks Ben. Didn’t post the recent p**p video…..lol just in case your having breakfast 😂😜

Woooo hooo! Done! Another fascinating Moruya Books book launch but this time two author talks. First up Bruce Pascoe, Dark Emu and then Inga Simpson spoke with gorgeous friend Duncan McLaughlin about her latest book, The Thinning. 90 plus literary buffs came to sit, eat thanks as always to Amber's Cafe, enjoy a tipple and then leave with signed books clutched under their arms. The icing…..gentle rain started just as it was finishing up and then albeit it brief a nice steady drop after everyone had left. Guests all checked in so the weekend off to a positive start indeed. Thanks Kat Patton for some beautiful pics. 🤠🍾❤️

Over the years we have planted over 2000 trees around the farm, some to help stabilise the river banks and others to re wild. South East Local Land Services However this project was all about Koalas! Helping to create tree corridors. This project is exciting as these fab tree guards mean we can plant more trees without losing chunks of grazing pasture, protecting the trees from livestock until they are old enough to stand alone. Which also means it’s effective to plant individual ‘paddock trees’ as well as the long rows we did.
As Sharlene from Eurobodalla Koalas project project said, “This property marks our first use of @‌Ekidna Guards, specifically designed to protect trees on cattle farms.
On Friday, we had the pleasure of being joined by Year 10 Geography students from St Peter's Anglican College Broulee, who helped expand on their studies of Environment Management and Change. Our Koala project is a perfect real-life example of this, as we work with dedicated property owners to balance sustainable cattle farming with the preservation of crucial wildlife corridors—not just for koalas, but for many other species.
It was an inspiring day sharing our mission and seeing the students get hands-on with tree planting and wire guard installations! 🌳🙌
Over the two days, we successfully planted and installed 182 trees, with about 100 more to go! 🌱 Let's keep growing these habitats for a brighter future.’

Thank you St Peter's Anglican College Broulee for coming out to not just learn about the importance of such local projects but to also get down and dirty to plant! 🐨🤠 also thanks to Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens for growing the tree varieties specific koala food.
